"Is not very normal for people to want go to Jusenkyo," protested the Guide.
"It is a training ground, isn't it?" Genma said.
"That true, but..."
"But nothing. I'm sure that we can deal with any little thing that might come up. But what is important is that we get to the training ground as soon as we can."
The Guide sighed. No matter what he did, the fat man refused to understand the problems associated with the training ground. Perhaps the son would be more amenable to listening to the warnings. He glanced over the crowd before spotting who he thought was the boy. "You son is one who have black hair tied up?"
"Yes, he does. Why do you ask?"
"It look like he in finals."
Genma turned his head to see what the Guide was looking at and saw his son climbing onto the oversized log hanging in one part of the of the village. On the other side, a cute girl with violet hair was joining him on top of the log. The two faced each other, and went through the pre-fight spiel before their battle started.
So his son had made it to the finals. Imagine that. He had worried that the boy's skill would have been too weak because of the animals to reach that far. But the boy had managed to succeed despite that and in the spirit of a true martial artist as well.
He did have to admit that the girl was good. Her techinque was well done and she did have the spirit for battle, but there were problems. For one, she was predictable, and easy to maneuver. The girl was forthright and direct in her attacks and easily pushed. Plus, she seemed to be a bit distracted by something.
And it seemed that his boy had realized it as well, and was taking advantage of it. He let her swing at him a couple of times, bringing her further and further in to the fight. So far in fact, that she overextended herself and became unbalanced in her stance. That would be no problem since a smple movement to one side would bring her back to being steady on her feet.
Or it would be, if Ranma had given her the chance. In a sineous motion, he ducked the blow that had left her in that position, and then used his foot to kick her legs out from under her. That sent her sailing from the top of log to land hard on the ground beneath it.
Proud at his son's accomplishment, Genma then turned worried as a gasp of shock spread through the onlookers. A low murmur followed and frowns were sent in the direction of the boy. And as his son leapt off of the the log and was declared the winner, his opponent was awakened and helped up to come over to him. There was definately something in her eyes that the Saotome father did not like.
"What is going on?" Genma demanded of the Guide.
"Is not good. No one know what to make of Outsider boy who win Tournament."
The portly man growled deep in his throat as took that it in. Leave it to the boy to mess a simple thing like a tournament up. He'd likely offened them in some way by defeating the girl so easily. If his time with the Master (May he never touch a panty again) had taught him anything, it was that offended groups could get nasty very quickly. "So which way is it to the training ground?"
"Is that way, but why you ask?"
"We will meet you there."
"Huh? What you mean... Hey! Wait for me!"
Shampoo blinked as she watched the cute boy who had defeated her get carried off by a fat man in a gi. It was definately an odd thing to see him get carted off and followed by another man and an assorted bunch of animals. Eveyone had been so wrapped up in discussing what would happen to the boy (and how cute he was) to notice what was just about to happen.
"Shampoo?"
"(Yes Elder Lillac?)"
"(Did he say anything to you before that happened?)"
"(No Elder. But I don't understand that...)"
"(Yes, well if I was a betting woman, I'd say that the older one was afraid over something.0"
"(Umm... But what would he have to be afraid of?)" spoke up Sugar.
"(Don't look at me. That isn't something that I've seen much of.)"
"(Did the Elders come up with something?" asked Spice.
"(We are looking into it,)" commented an arriveing Cologne, "(But we do have some definate things we have to do know."
"(Like what?)"
"(It's simple really. That was the Jusenkyo Guide, correct?)"
"(Yes, but what does that mean, Great-grandmother?)" asked Shampoo.
"(It means that you are going to find that young man. you do have something to take care of.)"
"(Yes, Great-grandmother.)"
Cologne nodded while:
