Mischief Fragment - Coeur Blanc: Taking Care Of Business [Episode 243638]

"Tough workout?" asked her father.

"That woman is good," said Tenten. "No, she's better than that. She's a first-class weaponmaster but she's even better with the hand-and-a-half sword."

"Ah, good," said her father.

"How was it with Naruto?" asked Tenten as she went past her father to flop into a chair.

"Those jutsu he uses are strange, but extremely handy," said the weaponsmith. "We did an extra twenty percent business today too over last week. Imagine if we advertised."

"Yeah, I suppose," said Tenten. "It'll be a pity when their usual kunoichi returns and Saber has to leave. I'd really like to see more of her."

"Check this out," said her father, tossing a kunai to her.

"It's lighter than usual," said Tenten as she weighed it in her hand.

"By 40%. He did something to the metal," said her father. "I need to run some tests. He said it was a form of reinforcement. He also did a sword but it's easier to test a couple of kunai with the equipment I've got."

"Oh?" asked Tenten. "So what did you do with the sword?"

Sasuke scowled, brooded, and looked very unhappy.

On the surface.

Sasuke, keeping this fact mostly secret lest annoying fangirls learn of it and do something he'd regret, actually DID have a hobby. It was a perfectly acceptable hobby for ninja too.

He collected weapons. He'd have his "use set" of the ones he kept sealed in scrolls or otherwise carried with him. As a genin he had to travel light and often go without visible weapons. There were, however, a number of weapons he kept that were not carried with him.

The long-knife that Naruto had made him was a bit long for carrying about openly, but it was a very nice weapon. The sword was even longer, and the grip and balance were for someone a bit taller than he was.

He hid the sword away, though honestly he was tempted to just put it on display. Not because it was pretty or something. No, this was a functional little piece that looked like it could dart out faster than a serpent's tongue and leave little stab wounds and slices in its wake.

Come to think of it, from a professional ninja point of view, that did make it rather pretty.

Still, he'd just hide it away. If he admired the clean lines and dusky metal with it's almost wood-grain darker pattern within it - he'd be inclined to be nicer to Naruto as a result.

No, that wouldn't do at all.

Sakura stretched as she left the hospital. Now, first order of business was to check up on Sasuke.

THWAM!

"Oh my stars! Did you see that?"

"She was just standing there and that bucket of rooftile glue fell off of that roof, slammed her in the head, and dumped its contents over her!"

"A 'yes' would have sufficed."

"It's not my fault! I wasn't near it this time!"

"Oh, I suppose a ninja did it?"

(a moment of dead silence)

"Well, Moe, we ARE in a ninja village."

"No time for this. Come on, we've got to get the bucket off her head before she suffocates."

"I gots it, Moe!"

"Heave!"
"Ho!"
"Heave!"
"Ho!"
"Heave!"
"Waitaminute, guys, we can't use that phrase anymore. It's been declared 'politically incorrect' by the Daimyo."
"That's nuts!"
"Well, so's the Daimyo."
"Point."

Sakura wondered if the niceties of language could be put aside in order to concentrate on getting this bucket off her head.

"HEAVE!"

POP! RIiiiiiip!

Sakura blinked as light returned and she could breathe again. Three middle-aged men looked at her, looked at the bucket, looked at her, looked at each other, and promptly threw the bucket off to the side.

"We see nothing," said the dumpy-looking one.
"We hear nothing," said the frizzy-haired one.
"We know nothing," said the one with a haircut similar to Hinata's.
"Bye bye!" said the three as they ran off.

Sakura blinked as her gaze went to the bucket, and a few ragged tufts of pink billowing around the edge. Slowly her hand edged up and checked.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"Huh, what was that?" asked Naruto.

"I'm not sure," said the Hokage, who made a gesture that one of the ANBU took as a signal he should go check it out. "So Sasuke has requested you have access to one of the metalworking shops in the Uchiha district. Promising."
