"What?" asked Naruto. "How come?"
"Apparently she was in an accident immediately following her release," said Kakashi.
"We'll have to visit her after missions and training," responded Naruto. "Does that mean that Saber - ?"
"Yes, she's apparently stuck with us for awhile," said Kakashi.
"So what's today's mission?" asked Naruto.
Kakashi started walking, unfurling the mission scroll. "Today we're... oh."
"That does not bode well," said Naruto, following Kakashi and glancing nervously at Sasuke.
"Apparently a farmer needs some field work done, readying the ground for planting," said Kakashi.
"Oh," said Naruto. "Hard and dirty work. Nothing really cool."
"It's a D-Rank Mission," said Kakashi, flipping the scroll back into a tightly rolled condition.
"Coeur Blanc," said Naruto, brandishing his staff and then bringing it down.
{Divine Favor - Target: Saber] responded the white staff. [Divine Favor - Target: Sasuke Uchiha.]
Saber readied her sword, her form precise as she flowed into the appropriate pose and built her energy up. "Slash wave!"
The wave of chakra neatly cut another row in the field.
Sasuke left off burning off the stubble from the last crop to admire the attack. He really had to learn how to do that.
Kakashi glanced up as Sasuke seemed inclined to compete with Saber in terms of doing things in the most awesome way. Meanwhile, Naruto was acting as support for both.
It had been Saber, surprisingly for a non-ninja, to suggest they do their missions using as much of their higher end abilities as possible in order to use the time for training.
Kakashi shrugged slightly. Whatever worked. Though he might actually have to teach them some basic training techniques at this rate. It wasn't like he felt there was any rush though. Best to keep it slow, especially with Sakura sidelined to the extent she was.
