Fillia backed up in shock. "The Dragon Slayer? The raw garbage?"
Xellos' eye twitched as he whispered, "Dragon slayer? Raw garbage?"
Fillia whipped out her mace adn was about to smack Xellos, but let it fall out of her grasp and sank to her knees. "You're one of the people I want to talk to."
Still recovering from the two nicnames, Xellos asked, "Oh?"
"Yes," Fillia replied, pulling out the Aincent Dragon gem. "I used to be a Gold Dragon. I need to know did my former race kill the Aincent Dragons."
"Used to be a Gold Dragon?" Xellos asked. "How is that possible?"
Fillia hesitated and then plunged ahead of what she had done after she had found out about the Aincent Dragons and who she was.
"The last thing she told me was to seek out her face and find the one with the answers I seek."
Xellos gently took dragon gem from Fillia and looked at it. "The Gold Dragons and Black Dragons inside the barrier are completely innocent of this."
Returning the jewel to Fillia, he continued, "The Aincent Dragons were also followers of the Water Dragon King. I feel that to say more would be wrong on my part. You should really find that girl. I will help on that endeavor."
"B-but..."
'I'd better help her achieve her quest. I have no wish to make the Lord of Nightmares angry at me,' Xellos thought, as he held up a finger to stop Fillia from continuing. "I have my reasons for not saying more. I am also curious as to what this girl would look like. I will be right back. Please stay here."
Xellos warped back to Wolf Pack Island and went to talk to the Beastmaster.
"Well Xellos, what have you to report?" the Beastmaster asked. "Have you found the talismans."
"I have not found the Demon Blood Talismans. The Lord of Nightmares is the one who breeched the Mazoku barrier and sent a former Gold Dragon on a quest. I request that I delay on searching for the talismans until I help Fillia on complete her quest."
Zelas Mettalium lit a ciggarete up and started smoking. "Former Gold?"
Xellos nodded. "She's a Sapphire Dragon. I have no idea what she can do. Her reflexes did seem to be a bit faster than a Gold."
"Who am I to argue with the Lord of Nightmares? Go ahead. I'll tell Phibrizo that there were complications that needed further investiagation."
Xellos bowed. "Thank you Lord Beastmaster."
Xellos grabbed some spare gold that he kept in his room and warped back to Fillia.
"If you are up to it, there is a town a bit further south of here," Xellos said with a smirk. "Considering how you humiliated yourself here, I think that transforming and flying to that villiage would be best. There I can get you some food and maybe a decent change of clothes."
Filla De'Une nodded and changed into her new form. Xellos eyed the Sapphire Dragon.
'Hmmm. Not as big as a Gold Dragon. So probably, she's a bit more manuverable in the air.'
Fillia launched herself into the air and sped off. Xellos was hard pressed to keep up with her.
'A LOT faster than a Gold Dragon. I wonder what she has in place of a Gold Dragon's laser breath.'
Soon the two of them landed near the small village of Vermil. Before allowing Fillia to proceed into Vermil, Xellos went in and bougt some more suitable clothing for the dragon girl. After doing so, the two of them went to the inn and Fillia gratefully ate some hot food. Suddenly she almost choked as she spotted a girl dressed in Shrine Maiden clothes.
"That girl. That's what she is supposed to look like," Fillia whispered.
Xellos turned around and spotted the girl. The girl seemed to be very fammiliar for some reason. Xellos went over to the girl.
"Um. Miss? We would like to talk with you."
Wiping a tear out of her eye, she nodded. "Naga shouldn't mind. Shrine maidens are supposed to help people."
The girl sat down at the table with Fillia and Xellos.
"I am a Mazoku by the name of Xellos and my companion is a dragon by the name of Fillia De'Une"
I am Lina Inverse. It is so nice to see that a Mazoku and a Dragon getting along. If only your respective masters would allow love into their hearts for each other and lived peacefully, the world would be a better place."
Xellos and Fillia's heads hit the table.
'This is going to be painful,' Xellos thought.
