As the four girls and the pigtailed boy trickled into the dining room, Haruka nodded to her lover, "I'll keep Michiru quiet if you keep Makoto and Minako from inserting their feet in their mouths."
Ranma snickered as Hotaru nodded at her father figure, but stopped when he noticed the unusually serious look on Usagi's face. The girl glanced at the bluenette and the black haired girl in the dining area and stated, "I'll take care of Ami-chan and Rei-chan."
Nabiki had to force herself to keep from staring at the girl. It was as if she was a completely different person-a veteran warrior, rather than the happy-go-lucky girl she was thirty minutes ago.
As Makoto set food out on the table, Nabiki took a good look at the table. Haruka had already taken her lover aside. The curious look she gave Ranma let her know that she was being told enough not to be startled about what was going on, but not enough for her to react right now.
Finally, as everyone sat down to eat, Nabiki stood up and glanced at Setsuna. She was acting casual, as if nothing was about to happen, but Nabiki was observant enough to notice her watching Rei out of the corner of her eye.
Clearing her throat to catch everyone's attention, the middle Tendo prayed that things would work out...

An hour later, Nabiki reflected that this was definitely a case of 'alls well that ends well.'
The moment Ranma turned a cup of cold water over his (now her) head, things had taken off. Both Makoto and Minako took on looks of horror and confusion, while Ami took on a look of smug satisfaction after a moment. Michiru glanced at Haruka questioningly while the blonde shrugged and smiled. Rei, however, seemed to turn red in fury.
However, that stopped the moment Usagi got up on her feet. The sudden regal aura she took up swept them all off their feet...
And she did NOT look happy.
"I have heard everything already, and I can already heard and seen how honest and honorable Ranma-kun is. He is the furthest thing from a pervert as any guy can be. I will not let anything be said against him!"
She turned her gaze towards Rei, and the black haired girl quailed at the look of sheer disappointment on the blonde's face. "You, Rei, accepted a clumsy fool into your life that day at your shrine. I tripped over everything, read your mangas, and then ate all your food, and yet you accepted me. You and I bicker like cats and dogs, but when there's trouble, we are in the thick of it, back to back against the world! Now we have a man, a hero, here, in a situation against his will. How can you hold it against him?"
Ami flinched when her queen looked at her, look unchanging, "And Ami, I can understand feeling skittish after accidentally seeing and feeling what you did, but you're attitude since then has been completely over the line. You walked in on him! You felt HIM up! Yet you act like HE is the pervert?!? I've known you longer than anyone else here, and this is not like you at all!"
Her eyes swept through the room, making even Ranma and Nabiki straighten themselves. "This changes nothing about him. So he has a curse-big deal! He has lived a life I wouldn't have wished on Beryl! If I see anyone act with even the least amount of malice against Ranma-kun, they WILL answer to ME, got it?!?"
Ami and Rei swallowed and nervously nodded their heads. Minako and Makoto just stared wide eyed at the girl, as did Nabiki and Ranma. Noticing her audience had heard her loud and clear, Usagi then smiled, sat down, and resumed eating.
