Genma the Genius: The Saotome Twins [Episode 24486]

by Black & White

Down an unpaved path through a forest walked three figures. Leading was a large heavyset man in a white gi, his head covered with a bandanna, and a large pack on his shoulders. Behind him walked two ten year old boys.

Dressed in identical white gi's, they were the same height, had near identical builds, and the same face. However the one on the left had ice blue eyes, and his hair looked like it had been styled by a professional (Which it had not). The others had red eyes and a noticeably less orderly head of hair (It wasn't tangled or mistreated, just, jumbled).

'Here I am.' Genma thought to himself. 'One of the greatest geniuses of my generation, and how long has it been since I've had the chance to use that genius?' He sighed, thinking of his old lab.

'Still, I've got the boys, and their going to turn the world on it's ear!' He smiled proudly.

Genma had started training the twins in Martial arts about the time they started walking. Right from the start their differences began to show. Blue eyed Ronri trained with the same incredible focus intensity and discipline he applied to pretty much everything he did. He never hurried while trying to learn a technique, and once the technique was learned, he devoted himself into learning it better.

Ranma was different. The red eyed twin seemed incapable of learning discipline or patience. He had however an incredible streak of creativity and inovativeness that sometimes led Genma to suspect that Ranma might be a greater genius than he was. It seemed that everything he saw or heard or even thought about was the potential inspiration for a martial arts technique.

When Ronri had first began to develop his ability's Genma had considered leaving Ranma with his wife to focus on his training. Until he saw what Ronri's ability's inspired Ranma to invent. There was too much potential in both of them. Besides, Ranma's inovativeness and creativity drove Ronri to constantly look outside the limits of what he already knew. Ronri's focus and perfectionism on the other hand, constantly goaded Ranma to put the effort into improving what he knew.

And then there was their ability's. Ronri's powers were the first to become apparent. The way his strength increased so rapidly, his unusual resistance to injury, and of course Genma's discovery that his claims to be able to see through walls were actually the truth.

Ranma had not spontaneously developed any such ability's, but when he realized why Ronri had been able to get up unscratched after falling from a building, he had spent a week trying to figure out how it worked. Ultimately he figured out how to tap some strange energy that Genma couldn't get his hands on the tools to quantify. Using this, he was able to boost his durability and strength.

The first time Ranma used it in a fight with his brother, however, he accidentally cracked Ronri's ribs with a punch that he was certain would barely hurt him. (Neither knew that Ronri's Kryptionan powers had a vulnerability to the magic energy Ranma taped to empower himself). When Ronri got out of bed it had taken more than a month for him to get Ranma to stop apologizing and start sparing with him again.

And while Ranma never managed to copy x-ray vision, he did discover how to see aura's.

Ultimately the trio had set out on a long productive training trip.
