"Here," said a voice.
Sakura peeled an eye open in order to regard the world around her. "Wha?!"
"Whoever you are, you should NEVER accept Rook's offer of a drink," said the redhaired girl. "He doesn't mean anything wrong with it, in fact he takes great pride in his brewing skills, but that stuff tastes like flavored water and goes down without burning. THEN it hits like a Mist jonin."
Sakura blinked, blinked again, took the drink the girl was offering and swallowed the contents of the cup. Almost immediately the ache receded to bearable levels and the light lost that fuzzy quality. "Where?"
"You're in the sleeping quarters of the caravan," said the redhead, taking the cup back and setting it in a drawer that latched down in place. "We'll start on your duties as soon as you're able to function again."
"Duties... OH CRAP!" exclaimed Sakura, who then winced at the shafts of pain that resulted from her shout.
"Take it easy a little bit first," said the redhead.
"I just came by to apologize and tell them I didn't mean to sign up..." Sakura began putting together the details. This was a large enclosed wagon. She was sitting on a carpet that had been spread out. The floor was moving, shifting around from moment to moment. "Oh. Heck."
"Well, girl, you signed up and you must have taken a drink from Rook," said the redhead. "You're with the Fitzwater Trading Caravan."
"But I'm a NINJA! Well, I was..." said Sakura as she remembered failing the genin test.
"Well, you can buy out your contract," said the redhead. "It's not a bad life though. I've been with them for six years now and I know everyone. You get to see more of the world, and we provide trade goods to all sorts of places. Come out when you're ready and I'll show you what to do."
