Kaede's shadow clone read the papers back in their room, getting a basic grasp of the situation.
Setsuna, Kaede, and Konoka arrived in their own class.
The problem was that they arrived to a scene of chaos.
There were two little girls in ninja outfits. There was a regal-looking girl arguing quite loudly with some girl who had bell-shaped hair ornaments. There was a girl juggling in the upper corner of the room. There was...
There was a lot going on. So much so that the eye just shut down from noticing all the mess and just classified it as clutter.
Kaede was a bit better, her eyes going from one to the next as she tried to classify them and determine threat levels.
Girls texting on cellphones. Girls talking on cellphones. One irritated-looking girl with a laptop computer? Three girls who were talking excitedly about not much at all.
"The two genin are not much," whispered Setsuna, revealing that she'd taken a moment to threat-assess as well.
Kaede nodded and replied in as quiet a manner. "I'm not sure what to make of the juggler. The Okinawan is some sort of fighter, I think. The two Chinese look like martial artists."
"There's a trace of spiritual presence," said Setsuna as she considered something. "It might be off the juggler or the Okinawan."
"Here we go," said Ranma, arriving at a room. Opening the door revealed the usual assortment of an all-guy class. There was a geek over there. Nerd. Sports jock. One guy who looked like he needed to start shaving. A delinquent-type. Some guy with one of those weird hairstyles that stuck out in front of his head. Guy with glasses who looked... a bit off. One kid who was missing an arm? Two kids in the back that looked like they were playing some card game. Ah, here came the usual.
"Hey kid, you're standing in my spot, I'm gonna have to charge a fee..." began the guy, doing the usual stupid schtick of licking a switchblade.
"Guy, you ain't worth my time," said Ranma.
"Oh yeah," said the punk kid, making a threatening gesture. "You wanna... ow."
Ranma simply held the hand that held that switchblade, looked into the boy's eyes and upped the pressure to just short of bone-crushing before letting go.
There were a few nods and disinterested looks before everyone turned back to what they had been doing. Pecking order established, or at least who was predator and who was prey. Nice of them to get that out of the way so quickly.
Ranma found a desk he could plop into and stretched out. Hopefully Kaede would have some answers soon.
