"So Lina," Naga asked, "Why did you break us up along those lines? I'm not sure I trust Zelgadis with my sister."
Lina waved that off. "Don't worry about it. He's always so serious. Until this crisis is over, he's not going to be distracted by anything."
Lina groaned as she took a look at Xoana's forces.
'Great, just great. By changing the past like this, I'm causing all the things that I did before to happen all at once. There's Marlene Calvert and her dragons. I'm going to have to expose Geizneau. Martina must have hired them to bolster her forces. At least Galev and Sarina aren't involved in this, but I have the feeling that they will appear sometime later. If what Phil said is true, the Einbergs are here as well. At least I can avoid having a cute golem of me made.'
Lina was about to step forward, when Naga levitated up to a post and started laughing. Several soldiers in Martina's army started shuddering.
Martina glared at Naga. "What are you laughing about?"
"You. Do you really think such a pathetic force could beat Seyruun?"
Martina pointed at Naga. "Why you.... Who do you think you are?"
"Me? I am Princess Gracia ul Naga de Seyruun, the older sister to Princess Amelia. The three of us are more than a match for your entire army."
Lina scratched her head in puzzlement. 'I wonder why she admited that so easily. I'll ask about it later.'
Gourry grasped the hilt of his sword.
Naga called down to the pair. "You two, go deal with the dragons. I'll handle this."
'I'll pull her out of the fire when she bites off more than she can chew, but I'll do it for now.'
Lina and Gourry headed over to the area where Marlene Calvert's dragons were.
Lina said, "It looks like we're your opponents. You want to give up now?"
Marlene stared at them. "Only the two of you against this many dragons?"
Gourry shrugged. "It just makes things more interesting."
Still standing on her pole, Naga threw an insult at Martina. "I heard your laugh as we came in. Boy was it pathetic. OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH!"
Martina fumed as she stared up at Naga. "I have an Orihalcum Golem that is immune to direct attacks and common spells. I also have an army that outnumbers the three of you. What do you have?"
Naga pointed up above the army and shouted, "FREEZE RAIN!!!"
A small blue sphere of light appeared over the army and started raining Icicle Lances down upon them. Matina stared up at the sphere as it continued to pour forth its attacks and freezing her army.
"I still have my Orihalcum Golem."
Naga laughed and cast another spell. "VU RAYWA!!"
A huge, out of proportion stone dragon appeared beside the golem. And as usual, it started going beserk. It rolled into the golem and knocked it down. soon the golem and stoen dragon were tangled up in each other and started rolling around the terrain, while the Freeze Rain spell merrily churned out its icy attacks.
Over on the other side of the battle field, Lina buried her face in her hand. "I did not just hear Naga cast those two spells. Until that sphere is destroyed, it'll keep going. And now, we have a beserk dragon to deal with as well."
Marlene pointed her giant wooden scimitar at Lina and said, "Your friend is very good, but when we take the field against her, we will be victorious. Before we beat you, I would like your name."
Lina sighed, crossed her arms and smiled. "I am the beautiful, young, sorcery genius: Lina Inverse."
"And, I'm her guardian: Gourry Gabriev."
Behind Marlene, all the dragons dropped their jaws and started sweating heavily. They all back stepped and started turning around.
"Well Lina Inverse, we shall dispose of you and that princess. Let's go dragons."
Marlen and her two supporters heard the charge of dragon feet. What surprised them was that the sound was receding.
Lina shook her head in exasperation. 'Just like before.'
Looking at Geizneau, Lina put a smirk on and said, "So Geizneau, still thinking of having dragons replace humans? I mean that is a pretty immature idea. But then again, you are a baby dragon."
"How did you.... No matter. I shall defeat you and prove to my brethren that you are just a mere human that has an over inflated reputation."
Gourry pointed at Lina and asked, "I thought your reputation didn't live up to the real you."
Lina pulled her bunny slipper out and beaned Gourry. "Shut up, Gourry."
During that time, Geizneau transformed himself into a massive serpentine red dragon and opened his mouth. Suddenly, the two careening golems crashed into him and tangled him up as well. The bizzare ball contiued rolling around, flattening more of the Xoana capital.
Lina started at the mess that was being caused. "This is getting crazy."
Marlene charged at Lina, who dodged out of the way and beaned her with Galvyara hard enough to break her wooden armor and send her to the ground. Gourry had a very easy time defeating Marlene's human follower.
Looking up from the unconciouss Thornfoot and said, "Looks like your friend Naga has things under control. All she has to do is turn off that spell."
"She can't turn off the spell, it's incomplete," Lina replied.
Before Gourry could say anything more, Jeffery charged at them.
"Miss Lina, I know that you taught me well, but I have to bring you to Sairagg."
Lina calmly leaned to one side and tripped Jeffery. She guided the tumbling Jeffery to crash into Martina. She nodded as the two them tumbled away from Naga and back under the Freeze Rain.
Martina shoved Jeffery off of her. "Get off me, you idiot."
On hearing the disembodied laughter, Naga paled and jumped down. She quickly made her way over to Lina.
"She's comming."
'There's way too many tempting targets out there right now. I can't resist,' Lina thought.
"Darkness beyond twilight. Crimson beyond blood that flows. Buried in the stream of time is where your power grows."
Josephine suddenly appeared and said, "You called my son an idiot. For that I can never forgive you."
"I pledge myself to conquer all the foes who stand before the mighty gift bestowed in my unworthy hand."
Jospehine leapt up past the Freeze Rain sphere as the Golem Dragon ball tumbled near.
"Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I posess. DRAGON SLAVE!!!!"
A sphere of red light was shot from Lina's hadn and exploded in the middle of the mess. The two golems and the Freeze Rain sphere were instantly vaprozied by the attack. Humans went flying everywhere, finally freed of the icy prisons that held them. As the light and dust settled down, Lina walked forward and pulled a small green snake up. Marlene dropped her sword as she saw the devestation caused by Lina's one spell.
Looking at Marlene, Lina said, "This is Geizneau's real form. He's a baby dragon that thinks that humans should be wiped out and dragons rule the world."
"H-how did you know?"
Lina put one finger up in the air and winked. "That is a secret. Anyway, you might want to have your dragons raise him. Let's get out of here Naga."
As the trio left, two men who resembled each other pushed thmesleves out of the wreckage.
Marlene looked at them and asked, "Who are you?"
"Garia Einberg and this is my son Huey. We were forced to work on Xoana's golem. Where is it?"
"Uh. Gone," Marlene said and pointed at the three who were leaving. "The girl with red hair destroyed it, along with the city."
Garia spotted the trio walking away. "That short one has inspired me. I think I'll make a golem using her features."
Marlene looked at the baby dragon that Lina had handed her and thought back to who it was that had inspired her to form her group. Firming her resolve, she went to gather her dragons back up and raise this baby dragon better than it had been. Her loyal guardian, Thornfoot woke up and followed her home.
Elsewhere, Martina stood up and shouted, "In the name of the Monstrous Zomalgustar, I shall have my revenge on Princess Gracia."
She quickly broke down and weeped. "But how?"
