Mischief Fragment: Enter the Destroyer [Episode 248002]

"Oh?" asked Lindy Harlaown. "What took so long? I honestly expected an analysis on my desk yesterday."

"It's..." began the scientist.

"Complicated?" asked Lindy.

"It's a Lost Logia," said the scientist. "Created during or before the Warring Ages of Belka. We think it's even more likely it is from Al-Hazard."

"Many consider Al-Hazard to be myth," said Captain Harlaown as she set her teacup down. "Supposedly that civilization created miracles of magitek and scitek, combining both."

"We're still researching, but it's..." the scientist paused again.

"You're having trouble speaking of it? What is so troublesome?" asked Captain Harlaown.

"The device's name is the Destroyer," said the scientist. "It's potential power output is greater than the Arc-en-ciel."

Captain Harlaown blinked. "Okayyy. So this mage has a device which is capable of matching this battleship's main cannon, which can collapse space-time in a blast radius of 100km?"

"No sir," responded the scientist.

"Oh good," said Lindy, relaxing slightly. "I'd hoped that I'd misheard you."

"The Destroyer exceeds that power output potential by a factor of at least one thousand," said the scientist.

"...excuse me?" asked Captain Harlaown.

"We're trying to put together a set of limiters so that he doesn't blow up planets," said the scientist. "It appears also that the boy has a sealed demon within him."

"Is there any abandoned labs far far away from inhabited worlds where you can research this Device further?" asked the Captain.

"Already looking into it," the scientist informed her.

• Limiters are go!
• Actually, the Device informs them it is quite capable of avoiding such things and locking higher-level functions. Its purpose is not to destroy indiscriminantly. No, the Destroyer is VERY choosy about its targets.
• The Destroyer informs them (when someone finally just goes ahead and asks the Device itself) that it was repurposed already. It was originally the Destroyer, capable of annihilating entire star systems. Now it has a host of other functions, still capable of vast scale when needed, but also able to do something much more useful in a day-to-day setting.
• The Destroyer Of Worlds has a power level roughly equal to the Infinity Gauntlet. However, the battles it was built to fight are long over. It has a few hobbies nowadays.
