"So this is the Destroyer," said Captain Harlaown.
"Yes, Captain Harlaown," said one of the researchers.
[Ah. A Captain. Finally.]
"It... shouldn't be able to speak inside all that, should it?" asked Lindy Harlaown.
"No. Not at all." The researcher backed up.
[Captain of what, may I ask?]
"The ship that brought you here, the Asura," said the Captain, trying to hand signal one of the technicians to check barriers.
[Ah. I tried to speak with it but your ship was not Awake.]
"You are called the Destroyer?" asked Captain Harlaown.
[By some. I have been known by a number of names. Naruto has taken to calling me 'Des-chan' - I'm considering adopting that name.]
"You... you're in contact with the boy you were found with?" asked Lindy, thinking that shouldn't be possible.
[Child. I was created thousands of your years ago. Do you really want to see what I can do to the pitiful barriers, seals, anti-magical fields, and restraints you have trained on me?]
"POWER SPIKE!" screamed one of the researchers before sparks flew everywhere, the cannon shot twice before going dead, and then everything was pitch black.
[Now. Can we speak like civilized Sentients?]
"Uhm, that might be good," admitted Lindy. "However I will not surrender my ship, crew, or allow you to endanger any of our worlds."
[Well spoken. Nice to get that sort of thing up front and out of the way, isn't it?]
"Uhm, yes?" asked Captain Harlaown. "May I ask a question?"
[Yes. Captain. Unlike these others, you are of a rank sufficient for me to treat with.]
"Ah," said Captain Harlaown. "What exactly are you?"
[Now isn't THAT a question that can be interpreted all sorts of ways? I am a Self Aware Mobile Arcane Depository. I am I. I am also a Class SSS+ Device whose current operator is Naruto Uzumaki. At maximum power, I can collapse space/time in a radius of about zero point nine light-years and then extract all the information within that. I am the Doomsday Weapon that my ancient creators tried to ready in time to deploy against the other side's Doomsday Weapon. Alas, that was not to be my fate.]
"Almost a full light-year?" asked Lindy, who'd thought the Arc-en-ciel was insanely destructive.
[Yes. I am currently multi-tasking by the way. Naruto wanted to train and I'm teaching him a few things.]
"Isn't he heavily sedated back on the Asura?" asked Lindy.
[Quite. It does make things difficult of course.]
"So you were supposed to end the war?" asked Lindy.
[I was supposed to be completed, shown to the other side, and then mothballed as nobody actually wanted me to be used. Hence my other uses. Things didn't go like that. The other side had something much cruder and without my level of control.]
"But you survived?" asked Lindy.
[It took some time for repairs, but I have had a surfeit of time since then.]
"So you don't go around destroying things normally, you have other functions?" asked Lindy.
[Oh yes. In fact, my main function nowadays is indulging my hobby. Which is:]
