The only thing keeping the reply from being a dead silence was the occasional zap or zot from power relays slowly coming back.
"Uhm, what?" asked Captain Lindy Harlaown.

"N-no," stammered Captain Harlaown.
[Well, that's interesting too in that it eventually leads to the whole reproductive thing. "So you did," realized Lindy. "You said you were teaching this child, but I didn't expect that to be what you were teaching him."

"So, if that isn't the bulk of what you're teaching him, what IS?" asked Lindy as the lights began flicking back on.
[Variants of Flier Fin and Defenser for starters. Actually mastering those two will allow him increased mobility and increase the chance of his being able to survive.]
"I see," said Lindy.
[I believe the phrase 'you have to be able to walk before you can run' is applicable here.]
"Captain," said someone outside the control room. "We're getting an alert. Mages have been attacked on Non-Administered World #97. They're requesting help."
"That's Nanoha's world," realized Lindy.
