Captain Harlaown blinked, her mind going from 'try to figure out how to keep the obscenely powerful superweapon off her ship' to a halt immediately.
[You will take Naruto. Therefore I will assign two guardians to him.]
Two female shapes formed out of thin air.
"Who?" asked Lindy as the two girls standing there blinked and seemed to wake up slowly.
[Guardian Knight Program.]
"So these are just to protect Naruto?" asked Lindy, wondering if this was less troublesome.
[The Guardian Knight Program was developed to protect the wielder of the Device. Your mileage may vary.]
"Excuse me?" asked Lindy.
[One of my operators used them to fetch him pizza, among other things.]
Lindy considered that for a moment before a buzz reminded her that time was still running. "We'll consider this later, for now - fine."
The various researchers looked at the mysterious Device (currently in the form of a crook-ended staff) and at each other, wondering how best to proceed.
Lindy noticed the two keeping up with her, and that they'd been silent so far. As soon as the short-range teleport had completed, she stepped off the platform and asked them their names.
The two introduced themselves, showing signs of individual personality as they did. Then they were off again.
"Nobody except TSAB personnel are allowed on the bridge," said Lindy after the final elevator ride. "Security concerns."
That left her to go the final distance alone, though she'd been using the ship systems to keep track of the two.
At least she had names now.
