"It's a Device that fits onto your arm, and once activated it will only work for you," stated the cat. "It stores ten profiles and allows you to transform into one of those profiles at need. When activated, the transformation lasts for ten minutes. Mind you, once you've reached a certain degree of familiarity with the device - restrictions will be eased."
"Ten minutes? That's not very long," complained Naruto.
"So? You get ten minutes of awesome, that's ten minutes more than you have without it," pointed out the cat. "Ahem. The ten minutes then recharge themselves after about four hours at your current chakra levels."
"That's lame," said Naruto.
"Eh, the TV show got at least three seasons before they uprated it, I think," said the cat. "So by the time you come back to the village after your training trip - you should be ready for it to be upgraded by then."
"Look, can't I just get the upgrades NOW? I mean, look at the people I face! The people out to freaking kill me by ripping fuzzbutt out of my guts! One of them is capable of making a MOON and putting the damn thing in orbit, and he has FIVE other freaking bodies that all do things like that!" Naruto hmphed.
"You've got to build up gradually, that's the way these things work," said Toltiir. "Besides, if you were awesome from the get-go, every assassin and spy would know about it and you'd be dead before you graudated the Academy."
"So, if I get better with my chakra, I can use it more often?" asked Naruto. Not really wanting to concede anything.
"That's right!" agreed the cat. "It also protects you from mental influences when activated. So if you were in a genjutsu and turned it on, you'd break the genjutsu."
"Okay," said Naruto, thinking that might be do-able. "So what are these 'stored profiles' then?"
The cat popped up several displays to properly give the boy a better idea of what was involved. "Ah, as to that, they're:"
