"No," said Naruto simply.
"Do you know who I am?!" demanded the girl.
"Hanabi Hyuga, Hinata's sister," said Naruto, putting a curlique symbol next to a bracket with a flourish of his brush. "She pointed you out when we were at that sweet-roll place."
Hanabi scowled. "Why won't you give me a summons?! It's unfair that Hinata gets one!"
"Ojiisan said 'no more' except when I'm researchin'," said Naruto as he put another couple of symbols on the scroll and then did a linking symbol.
"You're an orphan! A nobody! Who's this 'ojiisan' so I can straighten them out?" Hanabi huffed, she was NOT happy about Hinata having her summons and using it as often as she did.
"That would be me," said a familiar voice.
"Hokage-sama?!" squeaked Hanabi before getting her reaction back under control.
"What will this one do, Naruto?" asked the Hokage as he looked over the symbols.
"This is that trap summoning scroll you wanted, Ojiisan," said Naruto proudly. "Almost done."
"'trap'?" asked Hanabi in a small voice as she'd considered stealing the thing in order to get even with this obnoxious boy and her sister.
"Oh good," said the Hokage pleasantly.
Sakura considered it. Considered going to Naruto and asking for help.
There he was, training with that older girl who was showing him bojutsu techniques. With that ice-girl and Hinata watching from a bench.
He wasn't the dead last loser anymore. He wasn't the shunned little brat, who you worried about associating with in case you got shunned too.
He wasn't as cool or handsome as Sasuke, of course.
And now there was some other girl taking a seat, one who looked a lot like Hinata?
Sakura shook her head. No, if she was friendly to Naruto it might hurt her chances with Sasuke. She couldn't risk that.
