Mischief Fragment - Wishcraft: Summoning From A Sunny Field [Episode 249081]

by Kestral

She focussed her chakra as best she could, which was actually pretty good considering that she'd been working on chakra control practically since she was able to walk.

"Summoning Jutsu!" said Hinata, slapping one hand against the ground. The sigils briefly appeared, spread, and then vanished as they did their job. Chakra smoke puffed out.

"Kweh!" said the two legged flightless bird.

"You summoned... a giant chicken," said Hanabi. "A goofy looking, useless, chicken."

"Kweh?" protested the bird.

"Truly useless," said Hanabi. "Though maybe the servants in the kitchen can find a use for it."

"Go ahead," said Hinata, feeling exhausted from the effort.

"KWEH!" declared the chocobo, just before running directly over Hanabi.

Hanabi slowly got up. "Not fair! I wasn't ready! Let's see you try that again."

The chocobo leapt up, landed directly on top of Hanabi, and then sat down. Still atop Hanabi.

"Agh!" predictably reacted Hanabi as she tried to reach pressure points or otherwise free herself.

"I'm sorry," said Hinata, bowing to her younger sister.

"Can't... breathe..." said Hanabi as she struggled.

The chocobo started preening itself.

Hiashi sighed and made his presence known. "Hinata. Tell your summons to release your sister."

Hinata nodded to the summoned chocobo, who got up a moment later.

Hanabi gasped and wheezed.

"Hanabi," intoned their mutual father. "Summons are not something to dismiss. They are useful for more than just combat, and can surprise you if you allow it."

"I... noticed..." gasped Hanabi.

"Good," said Hiashi. She might just remember it.
