"We had no warning about the destruction of our planet, Vulcan. I and my classmates were of an all-girl's school and we were on the field when the destruction began. The ground had just opened up and we glimpsed the darkness below us.
"At which point the summoning 'jutsu' of Naruto Uzumaki managed to snag fourteen of my classmates and two teachers.
"Due to the different laws of this universe, something approaching human fantasy fiction operates here. The technology level here is also illogical, and several of my class-mates have had significant difficulty in reconciling such. That leaves six of us who have instead tried to adapt to this world and its customs and functions. Making sense of it all will have to be given a lower priority and be resolved later. Survival comes first.
"The recordings from T'Pak's sensor harness revealed what that destruction we witnessed actually was. A black hole temporarily forming within the core of the planet. As there is no Vulcan to return to, a means of getting back to our own universe seems even more problematic than the original space/time bridging which brought us here.
"Most of our higher-end devices seem to function sporadically or have diminishing functionality, which may be a further clue as to how this world functions and why the technological development here seems haphazard.
"Within this world, one is either a 'ninja' or a 'civilian' - and as none of us have the necessary skills to become a ninja - we are having to find civilian venues for our abilities. Whether such skills can be developed is unknown at present. Experimentation continues.
"Current observation is of one of the Academy teachers who has apparently decided to defect to an enemy nation using other rescuees as bargaining chips. I was preparing to attempt to intercede when it became obvious such would not actually be necessary."
"Well, I," said Mizuki, looking around and then motioning Tokine closer. "This is top secret, but..."
Mizuki looked startled when his attempt to sucker punch Tokine went through her. "A bunshin? But I was sure..."
"You thought I came alone?" asked Tokine.
"In truth, she did not," said a familiar voice.
Mizuki looked behind him, spotted Iruka and... Anko Mitarashi?!
"Hey, meatbag," said Anko with a smile. "You know what I think of traitors to the village?"
"Uhm, that they're worth hearing out?" tried Mizuki.
"Wrong!" happily proclaimed Anko. "Kids, you might want to take notes."
