"So the daimyo is requesting a demonstration of the jutsu in order to show another daimyo's representitive of why the jutsu is being sealed," said the ANBU.
"Again?"
"Different Daimyo. Mostly."
"Why they can't just accept that it's because that's too many people to simply absorb into our economy at once?" asked the Hokage.
"Because many of these girls have special abilities and the other daimyo has expressed a fear that we're gathering an army of elite troops," said the ANBU.
"How goes the relocation efforts?" asked the Hokage. Not mentioning he thought it was especially idiotic because every time the jutsu was demonstrated for foreign dignitaries - they had MORE rescuees to try and fit in somewhere.
"Fairly well," said the ANBU. "While most don't wish to leave the village, it looks like those who wash out of the Academy will be building that new village after all."
"Ah, well, that'll help in the long run," admitted the Hokage. He hadn't known the Daimyo had approved of it. Probably lost somewhere in one of those stacks of paperwork on his desk.
"Hokage-sama!" declared another ANBU as she appeared in the office. "Mizuki, one of the teachers of the Academy, has attempted to betray us. Anko Mitarashi is dealing with it."
"Get whatever's left of Mizuki to Interrogation as soon as possible," said the Hokage as he got up from his desk. "Lead me to the site."
"Ooooh, look how eager he is," said Anko.
"NO! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL KAMI! NOOOOOO!"
"You love it, you know you do," crooned Anko to Mizuki, lifting his head up by a grip on his hair in order to bring her mouth close to his ear. She moved her other hand.
"NO! PLEASE! DON'T! STOP!"
"Okay, I won't stop," chuckled Anko.
Tokine was like most of the others present, and ready to bolt. She wanted to look away. It was just so... horrible and fascinating. It was like some horrible wound that just seeing it turned your stomach but you couldn't stop staring at.
"Mistress!" said one of the drow eagerly. "Teach me!"
"Eh?" asked Anko, blinking and seeming to remember there was an audience present. "Oh. You're still here?"
"Yes, Mistress!" said one of the teenage drow. "Your technique... it's magnificent!"
"Eh?" said Anko, noticing that there were three of the dark-skinned elves present and all three were nodding and looking fascinated. Anko twitched one hand.
"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
None of the three looked discomfited in the slightest. Hmmm. Well now. "Heh. I never had minions before. Okay, watch carefully."
Iruka came rushing back, grabbed another two students, and fled again - hoping he could rescue SOME of them before they were Scarred For Life.
Mizuki began confessing as soon as he could breathe again.
The Hokage twitched. "Anko wants a genin team."
"Yes, Hokage-sama, she calls them her minions. Thinks they'll do well in Torture and Interrogation someday."
The Hokage twitched again but considered it. "This might actually calm her down a little. I think I'll go with Temporarily Approved Under Conditions."
"Very well, Hokage-sama," said the ANBU, vanishing in a swirl of chakra smoke.
"This could be something so fundamentally wrong the universe itself will shudder to remember it," mused the Hokage. "Or it could be that Anko will finally begin to heal some of her old wounds."
"So you're Konohamaru, grandson of the Hokage?"
"That's right, so you better apologize!"
BOP!
"HEY!" said Konohamaru, rubbing the top of his head. "Who the hell do you think I am?"
"The annoying grandson of the Hokage," said Naruto. "We already established that."
Konohamaru kept the angry pose going, but that was just a pose. Inwardly, he was delighted for someone who saw HIM instead of just the Hokage's grandson.
"I'm gonna be Hokage someday, and it's gonna take a lot of work," said Naruto. "I didn't realize how much work until I saw what went on with the rescue-girls-jutsu. But I WILL get there. Believe it!"
"Not if I get there first!" declared Konohamaru. "You're my rival then!"
"Okay," said Iruka the next day. "Team assignments."
