A single paradox had been repeated and the pressure had mounted until the Event. Whether you call it a Paradox Storm or a Timequake was of no consequence. It was exactly the sort of thing the Gates Of Time had been built to contain, and this is what they did.
However there was some side effects.
Ranma and Setsuna were at the center. Setsuna managed to anchor herself, but as for Ranma...
Setsuna winced. She was responsible for this, and would try to intervene and make amends, but the past of Ranma Saotome had just been erased and rewritten.
Because of her presence at the storm with Ranma, no matter what she did short of killing him - his path would intersect that of the Senshi.
