"So what next, Naruto-sama?" asked Ifurita.
"'Sama?'" asked Naruto, pointing at himself.
"Both myself and Lina are sworn to serve and protect you," said Ifurita.
"Oh?" said Naruto, blinking for a moment. Then he grinned. "One step closer to being Hokage!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," said Lina, making a little gesture as if to wave away the point. "So what next? We escaped, saw you get attacked by those gals, and frankly you still don't look so good."
"Gee thanks," said Naruto.
"Sarcasm and biting commentary is only one of my many services," stated Lina.
"I'm fine," insisted Naruto, taking two strides forward before his knees gave out. "Would you believe mostly fine?"
"I find that hard to believe," admitted Lina.
"Might I make a suggestion?" said a hologram of Lindy Harlaown as it appeared.
"Does this include locking Naruto up?" asked Lina.
"Just medical care," said Lindy. "His linker core was attacked but not taken, so he should recover. We can assist in that."
"And you're just doing this out of the goodness of your heart?" asked Lina.
"Well, I do have a proposition," admitted Lindy.
"I don't trust 'em," said Lina.
"Well, okay," said Naruto. "Do we have a better option? I get paid, a place to stay, and the chance to do some ninja-hero action, maybe some new jutsu outta this deal. We reject it, I still don't know how to get home."
Ifurita had been silent, apparently considering the whole thing. "Naruto-sama, your goal is to become 'Hokage'?"
"Yeah!" said Naruto. "I will become Hokage!"
"What's a 'Hokage' anyway?" asked Lina.
"The Hokage is the leader of the whole village," said Naruto.
"He's the mayor?" asked Lina.
"No, I'm from the Village Hidden In The Leaves," explained Naruto. "The Hokage is the strongest ninja, and everybody respects him. He protects the whole village!"
"So that would be why you want to be a 'ninja-hero' and get new 'jutsu' along the way, to reach this goal?" asked Ifurita.
"Yup!" said Naruto.
"Then you should take the offer for now at least," said Ifurita.
"We just escaped from these bozos," pointed out Lina.
"Do you have an alternative plan?" asked Ifurita.
"Well, no, not really," said Lina. "Other than adopting the 'wandering sorcerer' sort of lifestyle. Somehow I doubt there's that many bandits around here we can rob."
"It's settled then," said Naruto.
"Are you sure about this?" asked Amy.
"At least this way we have some measure of control on the situation, and we can continue to observe them," said Lindy. "Otherwise they're going to wander around and possibly cause massive amounts of random destruction."
"I suppose," said Amy before a comm button flashed. Amy pulled up the information before reporting that:
