Mischief Fragment - Destroyer: Purified [Episode 250748]

by Kestral

Sailor Moon used her most powerful attack, her will focussed. She was now twenty years old and she'd been studying. It turned out that tai-chi was good for focus. About some of her other efforts in that regard, such as knitting and embroidery - the less said the better.

Especially Rei. Just getting her started on Usagi's attempt to learn knitting? No, really best not to even mention the subject anywhere near the shrine maiden.

This was not one of her earlier attacks, which even a slightly powerful daimon could resist. She was, after all, facing a kaiju capable of reinforcing a skyscraper and using it as a blunt trauma weapon. No, she was going full out from the start.

Dark chakra met an attack which was meant to purify and dissipate darkness.

The Kyubi resisted, fighting as the attack seemed to burrow through it and then the entire thing simply seemed to flash white and then vanish.

Sailor Moon had just let out a big sigh of relief as the kaiju was apparently dissipated when a woman with a sword appeared behind her and struck.

He knew that his boss didn't even know his name. He was, as far as many of those around him were concerned, just a part-time worker who was fairly good with his camera.

Dageki Setsuyama was also known as "Dagu" to those few he considered friends. They knew him as somewhat cautious. Some of them knew he'd pulled three terms in the JSDF, and basically nothing else about him.

With the helicopter pilot dead, the Magical Girl injured, the Magical Boy (even if the Magical Girl had referred to him as a ferret for some reason) unconscious or dead, the other Magical Girl fighting off the hammer-wielding Dark Magical Girl, and the "plucky news babe" Midori Yukata (her on-camera name) patched up as best as he could under the circumstances, he connected the feeds and went back to filming. It was his job after all, and whatever the circumstances or the job - he took that seriously.

Yes, he was over forty. Yes, he didn't move as fast as he used to. Yes, he woke up with aches that he hadn't had when he was younger. He remembered when the "snap crackle pop" in the morning was his breakfast cereal instead of his joints.

He had, however, managed to grab his equipment and the two living passengers and get off the helicopter. He climbed to the top of an air conditioning unit on the top of the building and ignored the smashed-up helicopter as it finally teetered over and fell the rest of the way to the street.

Right now he was focussed on getting the shot as the girl who'd just defeated the kaiju was now the newest target of attack from the Dark Magical Girl group.

Not that the other Magical Girls were taking this too well.

Signum was of the opinion this was what military personnel would refer to as a 'Fustercluck, Grade A' or something along those lines.

She was injured. Shamal was unconscious. Zafira had seen better days. Vita was in the best shape of any of them except she'd gone as close to completely berserk at this point as she'd ever seen her.

There was only one way to pull this off from the category of Unmitigated Disaster - and that was to get a prime linker core out of it.

So she'd forced her body into motion, scattered the most powerful bodyguards with a quick burst of magical attacks, and taken a swing at the girl with the weird two-bun-ponytail hairstyle. Knock her down, rouse Shamal enough to take the linker core, and then off and away.

The universe, as so often this particular evening, did NOT seem to be cooperating.

There was suddenly a guy in the way, wielding a rapier of some variant kind, and demonstrating sufficient skill that she wouldn't be able to simply finesse or power her way through with her current injuries.

No, the only way this could get worse was if they remained here for something else to go wrong. Now if she could only get Vita to retreat.

Signum sent a telepathic request to Zafira, then tried to break in on Vita's mad.

"I know, damnit!" swore Vita. "Though I think I still can get..."

No! The situation has gone steadily downhill. We need to fall back and regroup. Shamal's unconscious. Both I and Zafira have sustained injuries.

"Damn!" said Vita, trying to force the blonde opponent back.

"Digu Volt!" said someone else.

Vita was knocked away, but realized this was also her chance to get away.
