Keiko and Botan were currently in the residential section of the palace enjoying a relaxing dip in the indoor hot springs. There was a grin on Keiko's face as she chuckled at her current position. Never in her life had she ever dreamed of becoming Yusuke's queen over Makai. She used to picture herself as a school teacher and Yusuke joining the police; what other respectable careers were there for a former punk with enough power to destroy a city? It was funny how dying changed your outlook on a lot of things. Still, Keiko couldn't complain how her unlife turned out.
Botan turned over to Keiko and called out, "Hey Keiko. Isn't Yusuke supposed to be coming home from that 'parliament' session today?" Makai politics were a lot rougher than Earth politics and the government tended to seem more like a drunk fraternity. However, it was more efficient than human governments ever since Yususke added the battle ring to settle political debates.
The queen of Makai opened one eye to look at her fellow wife. Botan's marriage to Yusuke was politically driven to ease some of the tension between Makai and Reikai. Keiko and Yusuke had reluctantly accepted the deal when Koenma suggested Botan be the Reikai bride. "Yes Botan, Yusuke should be returning some time this afternoon. Kurama called the palace this morning with the news. Why do you ask?"
"Well Keiko, I just wanted to know how we were going to welcome Yusuke back. Are we going to go for a 'Double Dutch Chocolate Surprise' greeting in bedroom or something similar for a job well done? Or, are we kicking him to the couch for tracking mud all over the palace before he left for the parliament session?"
Before Botan could get her answer, the phone rang. Keiko quickly picked up the phone and answered it. "Good day, this is the Urameshi Estate, who is calling this number?"
Keikio's eyes narrowed slightly when she heard Koenma nervously answer her. "Hi Keiko, It's Koenma. I'm curious, but did I catch you at a bad time?"
"What is the problem this time Koenma and who does Yusuke need to beat up in order to set things right?"
Over in Reikai, Koenma gulped in his chibi form and then reminded himself that there was no way Keiko could get to him from across worlds. "Well, its not so much a problem as it is an ongoing situation that I've just managed to find out about. It's just that, well it seems that Yusukeaccidentallyfatheredasonwhileinadrunkendepressionoveryourdeathallthoseyearsago!"
Keiko's eyes narrowed even further as she was only able to hear that Yusuke had done something because of her death in the past. "What was that Koenma? Please repeat what you just told me and say it slow enough that I can understand you."
The King of Reikai took a deep breath and then replied. "Yusuke accidentally fathered a son while in a drunken depression over your death all those years ago. The kid's a martial artist named Ranma whose got Yusuke's luck for getting into trouble. Ranma is a solid B class and he's caught the attention of an A+ class mutant by the name of Magneto. I don't have every fact on the situation just yet, but it looks like Ranma could awaken his Mazoku blood if pushed. To add to the chaos, his mother is a mutant which means he's got an X-gene which will do who knows what if activated."
Keiko closed her eyes and a twitch developed on her forehead. "That you for telling me this Koenma. I'll be sure to let Yusuke know. Don't worry about this, I'll make sure that it's taken care of as soon as possible. Goodbye Koenma." Keiko hung up the phone and sunk further into hot springs.
Botan looked at her fellow wife and dear friend in confusion. "What was Koenma calling about?"
"He just found out that Yusuke has a son. Our husband apparently couldn't hold his liquor like a gentleman back when I died."
A twitch developed on Botan's forehead as she heard the news. "Well, that answers my earlier question. Yusuke is sleeping on the couch."
Keiko nodded her head. "My thoughts exactly Botan."
A minute later Botan asked, "Do you think this also rates us tormenting Yusuke with the sounds of HLS while he's on the couch?"
"You better not expect any sleep for the next week Botan."
