Mischief Fragment - legacy: Poster Girl [Episode 255522]

by Kestral

Sakura held up her bell and raised her voice to be heard over Naruto mumbling some complaint with the situation. Especially as he'd apparently landed upside down in the bushes. "See, Kakashi-sensei! Sasuke and I both have bells, so you can send Naruto back to the Academ-MMPHG?!"

Much of that statement had been interrupted by Kakashi stuffing a gag into Sakura's mouth, followed by the kunoichi being securely tied to a post.

"MPHHHHH!" protested Sakura.

The two boys were cautiously approaching at this point, Sasuke limping a bit. Both were looking a little worse for wear.

"Well, that was unconventional," admitted Kakashi. "Still, nice teamwork from two of you at least."

"What?" asked Sasuke.

"Yes," said another voice. "He did an admirable job of keeping you occupied long enough for Naruto-sama to get off a teleport."

"What?" asked Sasuke.

Yuri came out from behind a tree.

"What?" repeated Sasuke.

Himari followed Yuri.

"What?" repeated Sasuke.

"Ah, so that's why you understood about teamwork," reasoned Kakashi bringing a fist down into the cupped other hand. "Your... whatever those girls are."

"Pokegirls," said Yuri. "The Hokage has deemed us to be treated basically like summons."

Sasuke settled down a bit. Summons - that actually made sense. Clearly the two were just a bit more humanoid than he was used to hearing about.

"Goshujin-sama," said the other girl, bowing. "I appear to have failed your trust."

"He's a jonin, a little out of our league for now," said Yuri, worried that the catgirl might do some messy samurai thing for the perceived failure.

"Mphhhh," indicated Sakura.

"You're gagged because you went yelling his name, obviously," pointed out Yuri. "When he's hiding and would obviously be in a great deal of pain if those women came back and caught him."

Naruto and Sasuke glanced at each other, at Sakura, then slowly turned their gaze towards Kakashi Hatake.

"Not that they could catch me, and if you did that at this point, I would simply declare you failed as getting civilians involved in a ninja operation is strictly against Regulation 27481-32B."

Not that there WAS such a regulation, but the only one that had a chance of knowing that was gagged.

"Mph?" asked Sakura.

Kakashi experienced a moment of gladness derived from two points. One, the little genin had bought it. Two, the crowd of women out for blood was getting further away as they searched for him.

So he could give them the standard Teamwork Speech, the same one he gave to all the other failed teams. Wrapping it up with his usual summation. "In the ninja world, those who break the rules are trash, that's true, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash."

"So true," said Himari.

"Yeah, teamwork!" said Yuri, thrusting a fist heavenwards. "Not that the Dark Elves I used to be with would have agreed with the sentiment."

"Oh?" asked Kakashi, seeing as how this might give him a little more detail about these odd pointy-eared girls. "What kind of sentiment did these other 'dark elves' have?"

"More like 'minions are expendable' actually," said Yuri.

"Ah, that's more Kiri than Konoha in attitude," noted Kakashi.

"They're coming back this way," said Himari, her cat ears twitching.

"Here's your lunches," said Kakashi, abruptly in a hurry for some reason. "Remember, don't feed Sakura. She's been a bad girl."

"So she should be spanked?" asked Yuri, who began looking for a suitable tree branch.

"Sure, knock yourselves out," said Kakashi, who then vanished.

"What would be the point of knocking myself out?" asked Yuri, finding a nice thick tree branch and giving it a couple of experimental swings. "I haven't been naughty, so I shouldn't be spanked, right? Unlike someone else."

Sakura's eyes crossed as she beheld the sight of the dark elf walking her way.

"Yuri. No," said Naruto. Who found the idea of Sakura getting spanked to be somehow both intriguing and repulsive. Which was odd enough that it was distracting.

"That's right," said Himari. "That branch is entirely too unwieldy. Use the scabbard of this sword instead."

"No," said Naruto, moving to Sakura and fumbling with her gag. "We're gonna have to work as a team. I got an idea."

"Oh," said Yuri.

Seeing the obvious disappointment on the faces of the two, Sasuke said something that he would later deny. Not that he'd regret saying it, but someone else would. "You can spank her later if she continues."

Kakashi was all set to jump in, put the fear of him into them, then relent and go ahead and take them as a team.

"Found you."

Kakashi did a Substitution jutsu so that the snake wrapped around that instead. Then a Shunshin, followed by making a Shadow Clone and then using Underground Movement while his clone ran like the wind.

It was Anko Mitarashi after all. This could be pretty bad.

He'd just have to talk to the genin later.
