"I have no idea."
"WAHHHH!" said Naruto, upon discovering that Kakashi was right behind him. "How long have you been there?!"
"About the time you threw your clothes to them."
"Oh," said Naruto. "Uhm. So you talked to the big guy? Was he there?"
"You could say that," said Kakashi. "Before we get into that though. What happened?"
"I was reading that book Mushu left me, trying to figure out who I should summon," explained Naruto. "Then Sakura took the book away from me, and there was this flash and suddenly it was like they couldn't stand each other."
"What?!" asked a small red dragon. "You pulling my leg? You LET her take that book from you?"
"She took it, didn't say I let her," grumped Naruto. "So?"
"You is the Dragon Contractor," said Mushu, stalking through the grass. "You is SUPPOSED to be responsible for your own stuff. Now Pinkie and Broodie's run into one of the traps."
"The book is trapped then?" asked Kakashi.
"Non-fatal stuff," said Mushu. "Which one was it anyway?"
"Which what?" asked Naruto.
"We really got to work on that attention defeatist stuff," said Mushu. "Which trap went off?"
"Uhm, there was a bright flash and then they started arguing?" supplied Naruto.
"Huh, not the teleport one then," said Mushu. "Not the Conditional Curse. Or the Symbol of P. Prolly one of the Symbol traps."
"Symbols?" asked Naruto.
"Sealcraft of some kind?" asked Kakashi, having a better idea of what that might entail.
"Yeah," said Mushu. "Symbols are high-end seals. Someone who ain't authorized sees a symbol - the effect goes off. Now that book is Naruto's directory of names. Names who the dragon is and what specifically they deal with so y'all can summon the right one for the right job. So there's info in there you don't want any enemies getting ahold of. So... let's see."
Mushu began flipping through the book. "Okay, I see we got in here a Symbol of Discord, a Symbol of Charm, a Mark Of Reflection, and an Icon of Incontinence."
"I'm pretty sure I don't want to see what the last one does," opined Kakashi. "What about the other three?"
"Hang on, Naruto, summon..." Mushu used his claws to flip through the book. "Try summoning Naam."
"Kuchiyose no jutsu! Naam!" tried Naruto.
"Do you mind?" asked what looked like a very buxom blonde elf when the smoke dispelled. "I was just getting to the good part of the book."
"Yo, Naam," said Mushu.
"Mushu?" asked the blonde, adjusting her glasses as she peered at the small dragon, then focussed her attention on the two humans. "Ah. You must be the contractor! Yes. I am Naam, expert on magical writings."
"Uhm, no. That's Kakashi, the other guy is the contractor," corrected Mushu when he noticed where she was looking.
"Oh. Awfully young," said Naam.
"Never mind that," said Mushu. "You can go back to your books in a minute. These two need to know what hit the contractor's team-mates. It was most likely either a Symbol Of Discord, a Symbol Of Charm, or a Mark Of Reflection."
"What did they do when it triggered?" asked Naam, who listened to Naruto's account of recent events. She nodded at a couple of points then added a question of her own. "How did they act towards you?"
"About the usual I guess," said Naruto. "Why?"
"Because if it were the Charm one, they'd be competing for your affections," said Naam.
"Oh," said Naruto.
Kakashi looked at his student, waiting for it.
"WHAT?!" squeaked Naruto.
