Bubble squeaked and blew a storm of bubbles out that completely obscured the area.
"Huh," said Sasuke, noting he couldn't see his hand more than an inch away from his face. This just might come in handy when fighting someone with a Sharingan - or one of the other dojutsu that were out there.
There was a smack and a squeak before the bubbles started disappearing.
Naruto held the card up proudly. "That's 'Bubble' now too!"
Sasuke raised his head and looked towards a roof. "How long are you going to keep tabs on us from the shadows, sensei?"
Kakashi considered fading away into the shadows, then shrugged and came forward to the end of the roof so he could look down on them. "That's three this week."
"Four. Let's see," said Sakura, counting off on her fingers. "There's 'Door', 'Invisible', 'Windy', 'Wood', 'Mirror', 'Fly', 'Shadow', 'Dash', 'Jump', 'Freeze', 'Water', and 'Power' prior to this week. Since then we've added 'Bubble', 'Repair', 'Libra', and the 'Flower' card."
"'Repair'?" asked Kakashi, reasonably sure that was not one of those he'd seen.
Naruto grinned, pointed a card at a large pothole in the street, and invoked. "Repair card. Fixit!"
Something appeared. Kakashi wasn't sure what it exactly was, as it appeared to be a short humanoid figure wearing overalls and carrying a toolkit. There was a blur as it knelt at the hole, then it was getting back up and there was no pothole in the street.
"That..." began Kakashi, letting his voice trail off. 'Mind-bogglingly useful' was his first impression. Not what he'd seen that other day was another point. "That wasn't the one I saw the other day."
"Oh," said Naruto.
Sakura nodded. "Oh. You must mean Libra."
"That the merchant's scales?" asked Kakashi.
"So," said Naruto. "Kakashi-sensei. We're really ready for something a bit more challenging than dog-walking and fence-painting. Dattebayo!"
Sakura rapped Naruto in the head, though much lighter than what she'd used to do. "Idiot. We're trying to get Kakashi-sensei to take us more seriously."
"I couldn't help it, it just slipped out," protested Naruto.
"Ah," said Kakashi. "Is that why the wind keeps tugging me off in the direction of your latest after-mission fight and the occasional training session. Or hedges suddenly looking like impenetrable walls. And so on?"
"Too subtle?" asked Naruto.
"How is that supposed to be subtle?" asked Sakura.
"You were expecting subtle from Naruto?" asked Sasuke of Sakura.
"Okay, point," admitted Sakura.
"Is there anything else I should know about my team?" asked Kakashi.
"Well," said Kakashi Hatake as he stared at the castle, "this explains why the Hokage seemed to find amusement whenever the subject of your 'Door' jutsu came up."
Sasuke leaned his back against a wall and smirked.
Hibana made a chirring noise as she looked over the unexpected visitor from her own position atop a wall.
Sakura remembered enough of her own introduction to the castle and thought maybe a little bit at a time would not be nearly so overwhelming. She remained silent though.
"A castle, surrounded by woods, that you can access with a card..." Kakashi's voice trailed off as he considered the possibilities such a thing provided.
"There's a lake!" pointed out Naruto.
"I didn't see a lake before," said Sakura.
"Wasn't there when I first accessed the castle, it came with the latest expansion," explained Naruto.
"'Expansion'?" asked Sakura.
"Capturing cards expands stuff," said Naruto, sounding as if he thought it was completely obvious.
"Oh, so the Water card," said Sakura, who then got very thoughtful.
Kakashi leapt to the top of the wall, and from there to the top of a tower. "Ah."
