This one was clearly of the majority. She was a girl about Sakura's age, with golden skin and reddish hair. Wearing a purple outfit that showed a lot of skin.
"That's the Shot card," said Sakura as the girl lifted up away from the castle wall.
"I take it the name is descriptive?" asked Kakashi, sounding completely unconcerned.
The girl grinned, brought her hands up and they began to glow.
"That looks like a 'yes'," noted Kakashi, a kunai fitting into one hand.
A blast of something came from the girl's hands. Kakashi deflected it with a kunai. The girl blinked, her grin falling away for a moment before returning with an expression of pure delight.
"Uh oh," predicted Naruto.
Kakashi found himself beginning to get pressed with the girl darting about like some demented hummingbird and firing blasts of whatever it was at him.
He thought it was rather like some of the advanced techniques he'd seen from Cloud-nin, like "Laser Circus" except these were balls of energy instead of beams.
"Naruto, try it now!"
"Windy! Combination Jutsu!"
THAT sounded ominous enough that both Shot and Kakashi paused and glanced towards the three genin without taking their full attention from the other.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
The fireball was formed and hit a mid-air haze. Kakashi's visible eye widened and he leapt back with all due haste as he had a pretty good idea what was coming.
It did. The fireball hit a swirling cone of air which changed it into a roaring cone of flame. Shot squeaked and began dodging.
Naruto shifted his hands slightly, still in the same "Tora" handseal that Sasuke was using. The cone of flames responded by shifting to follow Shot.
The technique ended a few moments later, leaving Sasuke gasping for breath as he'd had to exhale for the entire time he kept his part of the technique going.
Shot, looking considerably more charred around the edges, made a noise which might have been "ouch" or something along those lines.
"Windy! Bind!" said Naruto. "Capture!"
Sakura watched, holding a couple of kunai ready, until there was a card in Naruto's hand. "Shot card. So - a ranged attack."
"Yeah," said Naruto.
"That'll be interesting if you bring it into this week's fight," said a familiar voice.
"Fight card," identified Sasuke, not even looking.
"I thought you were a redheaded girl," said Kakashi, looking over the newcomer.
"I changed," said the Batman/Fight. "What was that new jutsu?"
"We need a name for it still," said Sakura. "I read about how Wind techniques could enhance Fire techniques."
"Fires Of Vengeance," suggested Sasuke.
"Whirling Flames," suggested Naruto.
"Inferno," tried Sakura.
"You haven't named it yet?" asked Kakashi.
"This was the first time we tried it," said Sakura. "Naruto's practiced getting Windy to form the right shape and Sasuke's practiced spitting a fireball that continues to stream, but we haven't done it before. Still it worked pretty much the way I figured it would - a swirling cone of flames."
"You have absolutely no idea how dangerous that could be, do you?" asked Kakashi.
