One of the most common means of punishing criminals is to incarcerate them in prison. Many different worlds with vastly different cultures have such facilities to contain these rogue elements. Most prison systems usually provide separate accommodations for their female inmates, housing them in prisons specifically for them.
The women in these prisons come from all walks of life. Some are nice people who were either down on their luck or just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But, one shouldn't be fouled by gender stereotypes. Other women prisoners rank amongst the worst criminals to be found in society.
