When Mihoshi granted the wish she did it based off her own experiences and the boy she was most familiar with, Tenchi Masaki. She saw parallels between Ranma and Tenchi's lives- girls chasing them, fighting enemies, and general insanity. So it figures that she would swap them in such a mannerisms, giving them each other's problems to sort out, hoping it worked out well (Yeah, like that would happen!).
So now Ranma Saotome was Ranma Masaki, a teenager training to work at a shrine. Mihoshi had inserted him into the day he had entered the cave of Ryoko, at the school where Tenchi would have run await, seeing it as one of the most important moments.
Naturally it went a bit different than otherwise.
The first thing Ranma noticed was he was somewhere unfamiliar, and his danger sense was going off. "Huh? What happened? Oh, that's right... the wish... so where the hell am I?" He was on top of what looked like a school, although it wasn't Furinkan. It still overlooked Tokyo, though. He started walking for the stairs.
A cat suddenly appeared from a corner of the school...and he jumped 50 feet vertically. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
'BWAHAHAHAHAHA!' Ryoko found it hilarious. Here was the boy who had freed here from the cave.. and he was scared of cats. She barely kept control of herself, but had a grin that the Cheshire cat would be proud of.
The imagesuddenly disappeared, and Ranma calmed down. He suddenly heard a bell, and looked in the the direction it came from. A girl with green hair was sitting on the ledge, grinning at him. She was swinging a bell around her finger, and sudddenly tossed it at him.
"The name's Ryoko," she told him. Suddenly an image of a monster head appeared behnd her, hovering in the air. If it was possible, her grin grew even larger than before.
Ranma wasn't deterred in the least. He was angry for the illusion and scaring him so badly. He was up for a fight and felt confident in himself.
"It was cold and dark. I was trapped in that cave for 700 years. You have no idead the pain I endured."
"Just who the hell are you, and whadya want with me?" Ranma yelled at her.
"I want to let out some stress, and you seem to be a good target."
Had Tenchi Masaki been the one to free her, the next 10 minutes would involve being chased down and nearly killed countless times, and the school being destroyed in a gas explosion. However, Ranma was not at all like Tenchi in that mannerism, and he had the skill to fight back.
"I don't think so! I'll kick your ass!" What Ranma did next impressed her. He rushed right at her, leapt high up, and proceeded to hit her with a rapid series of strikes she barely dodged out of the way of-all in just under 10 seconds.
She suddenly formed a sword out of midair, which didn't surprise him in the least. "You'll pay for that!" She swung at him with her sword. He simply ducked out of the way and launched a flurry of strikes at her back. "CHESTNUTS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FLAME!" She took the full force of the strikes and barely had time to react before nearly passing out from the blows.
She pulled herself up, pure rage driving her. "I WON'T LOSE TO YOU!" She launched blast after blast, but Ranma dodged all of them. He chose to respond in kind. "MOKO TAKABISHA!" She barely dodged out of the way, and Ranma used the opportunity to strike again. He hit her with 15 punches to the head, 12 kicks to the chest, and 13 elbows to the stomach. Ryoko finally went down into the bliss of sleep.
