"What's a 'kekkei genkai'?" asked Naruto.
"Naruto? Not again, not now," said Sakura.
"Intriguing." The Being seemed to loom closer. "Before Orochimaru placed the Cursemark on you, you actually were capable of being more than a vengeance-obsessed and entirely gullible bilgesnipe."
"What's a-" began Naruto before Sakura covered his mouth.
"Fine and done. He can scan and thereby learn a bloodline ability, including latent ones, then duplicate them. He can only do one at a time though, and it requires physical contact for him to properly scan that bloodline. Switching bloodlines will be disorienting and painful at first, with the chance for manifesting the wrong one especially in the early stages. "
Sakura yelped as Naruto was surrounded by orange fire, jumping back and shaking the hand that had been covering his mouth.
"So, he can scan the Sharingan?" asked Sasuke.
"Yes, though he'd only be able to manifest versions he'd come into contact with and scanned. Contact with you would give him the template for the Sharingan, but only the basic one. Contact and successful scanning of Itachi would give him the Mangekyo Sharingan as a possibility. Contact with the Rinnegan would allow for that as well, similar with Ice Release or other abilities."
Sasuke nodded, thinking that all he needed was to get his own Sharingan active - then two members of the team would be able to copy jutsu instantly.
"Sakura Haruno. Your turn."
"Me? Ah. Well. If I must," started out Sakura. "I wish that Naruto were better at control." Control of the Kyubi, control of his chakra, control of his self.
"Uh oh," said Sasuke, thinking this sounded bad.
