The problem was that all three genin were arguing at this point and Kurama had apparently been so irritated by the whole thing that he'd gone back into the seal voluntarily.
Not a good sign.
"So. No decisions?" asked Toltiir, wearing the form of a 9D Being patterned vaguely after a wizard named Ningauble.
Naturally, all three began speaking.
Sakura had taken a position where she partially supported Sasuke, but wanted it made absolutely clear that SHE should get some benefit out of it since she was absolutely positive that giving Naruto anything was a waste of time.
Sasuke had taken the position that neither Naruto nor Sakura were of any use in his own personal goals, but that if Naruto had a locate-enemy ability that could change.
Naruto wanted something awesome. Possibly involving ramen, becoming Hokage, or getting Sakura to stop hitting him.
On hearing her name come up, Sakura's fist contacted the top of Naruto's head.
"So, not making ANY wishes?" asked Toltiir. "Maybe I should give one to Orochimaru. I'd bet he could come up with something."
"Who?" asked Naruto.
"What?" asked Sasuke.
"Shut UP, Naruto! You're liable to say something, that Thing will take it as a wish, and things will be even worse!"
Toltiir had six eyes blink and swivel to face Sakura. "When did you get genre savvy?"
All three were silent for a moment before Sakura blurted. "You mean I'm right?!"
"Maybe I should just do this then."
"Sakura! You've got numbers over your head!"
"ACK! So do you! So does Sasuke!"
"A countdown?"
"What's going to happen if it reaches 'zero'?" asked Sakura, looking panicked for obvious reasons.
"Sasuke's older brother retroactively becomes his older sister, who shows up every so often to humiliate her little brother by putting him in a genjutsu. Also various cosplay outfits. IF his counter reaches zero."
Sasuke grimaced at the idea of such a ludicrous thing happening to him.
"Sakura's counter reaching zero will result in little Sakura Haruno never getting the 'top kunoichi' spot and on Team 7. There will be another kunoichi in your place. You'll end up on an all-kunoichi Team 8 with Hinata and Ino."
"WHAT?!" yelped Sakura.
"Whereas if Naruto's counter reaches zero, he's going to be stuck in an arranged marriage."
"That doesn't sound so bad," said Naruto, glancing at Sakura.
"To someone imported and retconned into the setting specifically to amuse me. NOT someone you already know."
"The counter's still going," pointed out Sakura. "What do we have to do?"
"Three of you. Three wishes. Each of you comes up with one, the counter giving you one hundred and twenty seconds to do so. It has to improve Naruto's chances of being able to survive the trials ahead. Preferably in a way that leaves things amusing as it goes off the rails. Shall we start first with you - Sasuke Uchiha?"
Sasuke didn't blink, having already come up with an idea. He spoke:
