Sasuke perked up slightly, recognizing all three.
"KAI! KAI DAMNIT!" tried Ino. She recognized the same two as Sakura and came up with the most logical explanation.
"The How and Why are all S-Rank secrets, and not to be discussed," said Iruka. "Even Naruto's involvement is not to be mentioned, though the official codephrase for record purposes is Naruto's Moment of Awesome. I think we all can figure out who came up with that name."
Naruto just grinned.
"You there in the back, you want to be on Naruto's team?" asked Mito, indicating one girl who seemed somewhat timid.
"Ye-ye-yes please," said Hinata. Even father wouldn't object to me training under two of the previous Hokage. Would he?
"Ah, unfortunately - Hinata is already assigned to Team 8," said Iruka.
"Well, if things don't work out there, we'll keep it under consideration," said Mito.
"So. That is how it is." Hiashi Hyuga nodded, his face a stony mask.
"Precisely," said Hiruzen Sarutobi, wearing the hat that indicated that this was entirely an official function.
"A bit unexpected," said Hizashi Hyuga.
"Indeed," said Hiashi.
"Might I inquire as to Neji's status?" asked Hizashi.
"Rookie of the year for the previous year, currently an outstanding genin under Maito Gai," said Hiashi.
"Ah. He's not wearing that..." Hizashi let the question trail off.
"Thankfully, no," said Hiashi.
"Ah. Good." Hizashi relaxed ever so slightly.
The Hokage spoke. "Neji is with his team and they are currently on a C-Rank mission to Brew Town. They will return by the end of the week."
"I understand, Hokage-sama," said Hizashi.
"You understand that this should be kept quiet, of course," said the Hokage. "Perhaps ANBU?"
"Perhaps, eventually," said Hiashi, not rejecting the offer of putting Hizashi into ANBU but not accepting it at the moment. "If Kumogakure demands his return?"
"If Kumo feels that they should have a second attempt at the Byakugan, then I would suggest that Ay send out an A-Rank mission to find someone who cares," said Hiruzen Sarutobi. "You haven't heard the whole thing yet."
"Oh?" asked Hiashi. "You said five had been returned. Was it someone else of note?"
"So what's the plan? You going to teach me awesome jutsu?" asked Naruto as they walked towards the training ground.
"Eventually," said Mito. "First we determine where your skills are - then we know what to work on. You have to master the basics before you can learn the 'awesome' stuff."
"Well, I'm ready!" declared Naruto. "I can handle it. Believe it!"
Naruto wasn't sure why the two former Kage found that funny.
Hiruzen Sarutobi sighed, looking out over the village as he thought about what a problem this was going to be. He was aware as the fifth of the five recently-dead ninja entered the room behind him. He simply stood there in silence briefly before acknowledging the presence of:
