"Isn't there something," Akane asked plaintively.

"Listen here little sister. First off I haven't had that long to look it over, so it's possible."

"It is?"

"Maybe. And remember, these are folks that frown upon insults. Look at what was goin on when Shampoo first got here."

"Oh yeah..."

"See? Besides, who knows, maybe you'll like the arrangement."

"NABIKI!" yelled a redfaced Akane.

"Embarressed are we?"

"Yes!"

"You poor girl..."

"Be serious!"

"Oh, but I am."

Akane scowled at her sister for a few moments before looking down and sighing. "I guess I've got no choice then."

"Really?" drawled the middle Tendo.

"Yeah," replied the youngest one, as she got up to:

• tell Shampoo that she wanted 'The Ceremony Of Broken Flesh'.
• have her sister do more to find out if there was any other way.
• take the book to look for her own answers.
• go to bed, since she was going to have an early morning of training.
• try to get some sleep, only she had a... visitor in her bed.
• do something else.
