"This is your friend?" Kasumi asked, regarding the giant panda. Soun shook his head vehemently.
"Oh!!" Nabiki snapped. "So this panda just decided to stop by! Sure happens all the time!"
"Quit it pop! Your scaring them senseless!" the forest green-haired girl over the panda's shoulder snapped.
In response the panda set her down, revealing a darkly tanned face like the color of tree bark and, though it wasn't obvious by looking, the smoothness of a delicate flower. She also had a figure that made her seem as if she were the statue of one of Artemis's dryad's come to life.
There was no mistaking her for anything but a her.
"You wouldn't be..." Soun started.
"I'm Ranma Saotome," Ranma said, bowing. "Sorry about this."
Soun fainted.

Things from that point occured rather normally until...
"He wants Akane!" Nabiki shouted.
"Yes, she would seem the best choice," Kasumi said.
"What!? Why me?" Akane protested.
"Because you hate boys," Kasumi said.
"So you're in luck, he's half-girl," Nabiki added.
"No way!" Akane snapped. "Let him go marry some guy and have kids for all I care!"
"Actually," Ranma said. "That wouldn't work."
"Huh?" Akane asked. "I guess you don't get periods then, not a real girl after all, huh?"
"No, it's just that," Ranma said, twiddling his thumbs. "I ain't exactly human no more."
"Yes, yes," Nabiki said. "Spring of drowned Dryad. And it leaked over to your natural form making you the only (part-time) male dryad...you and the panda explained all that. Dryads are still female and still have kids, at least so the Greek myths seem to indicate."
"Yeah," Ranma said slowly. "But Oread Dryads can only reproduce with other women...so...ain't gonna have no kids with no guy no how."
((AN: Yes, I've been reading Fred Heriott's "Three Sisters."))
"Are you saying I'm a lesbian!!" Genma goes flying.
