[Episode 27525] [Episode 27525]Nodoka was an odd bird. In many ways she was a very traditional Japanese woman, but some of her attitudes were quite... perverse. One area where these two attitudes found common ground was on Kodachi, Shampoo and Ukyo.
She was quite pleased that Ranma attracted so much female attention, but did not think the girls would make a suitable wife. Shampoo was foreign and Ukyo cross dressed - and was in business besides. (She was a little put off by Akane's tomboy ways as well, but understood what it was to be the daughter of a martial arts family and felt she just needed a little mothering.) Kodachi might have been a contender, but the destruction of Nodoka's home kind of spoiled any chance she had too.
Yet, while her traditional outlook said that the girls were not suitable as wives, it accepted that they could become her son's mistresses, which was something her other outlook agreed with.
So she desided to create a character based on a 'corrected' version of one of the girls, then put it together with the Ranma character and see what would happen. It was mildly naughty of her, but there was an element of voyarism to her perverse makeup. There was also an element of revenge for destroying her home to her fantasies - naughty girls needed to be punished.
