Understanding Pride: Elf-Girl Fiancee [Episode 28086]

by Thrythlind

Let us not forget the other fools out there that had taken those notes and tried to produce some other vareity of human hybrid.

Several of these were English majors (or just geeks and "professional" students) with a fondness for such things as dungeons and dragons and the works of JRR Tolkien. Which resulted in the elf virus which had mutated into about four strands.

First were the so-called "high elves" golden haired, blonde or red-haired, very elegant and over all quite calm externally. All the "elves" were very passionate, it was just the "high elves" did a very good job of seeming as emotionless as vulcans (another set of the virus).

Then there were the "grey elves" which had silver, black or blue hair, pale skin, and were somewhat more "down to Earth" than the high elves, though still more cultured in general than "humans."

Third were the "wood elves" which had green or brown hair and were rather passionate, and generally having no problem with expressing their intense emotions.

Last were the "dark elves" which had extremely light colored hair (usually white, silver or pale blonde) and dark skin (dark brown, purple, blue or black). Like all the elves, they were intensely passionate and emotional. However, the darks tended to brood and pout and be otherwise overall seem to be unhappy.

Granted, these were just tendencies. Meaning the plurality (not majority) fit those emotional states.

There really weren't four strands, the virus merely reacted in four general ways to various combinations of DNA. Some parents ended up having daughters (and a few sons...this virus was equal opportunity) from more than one "strand."

There were also the "half-elves" which were children that did not get totally affected by the virus and so came out somewhat in between the others.

There were also one or two elven types that came as a result of one person catching two types of the virus. Such as the winged elves that came about from combinations of the various bird viruses and the elf virus, and the sea elves that came from combining the fish virus.

All the elves were reasonably responsible, and indeed tended to be more thoughtful than normal humans. As such they had full rights were considered to have full normal human rights in most countries, though a few tended to brand them as abominations. Especially the dark elves, whose natural affinities for shadow magic tended to cause them to lean towards the less savory careers.

Many actually praised this particular virus except for the problem that it hadn't been very communicable and the DNA combinations involved in producing it had somehow been lost...so no one could reduplicate it. So, unfortunately, there were very few elves in the world.

Also, mostly the elves seemed to prefer to date other elves (of their own strand) which left the humans sort of out of the loop.

There were exceptions, as always, such as the girl that Nodoka was looking at for Ranma's fiancee...
