Shinji's New Day: Not a jerk, but... [Episode 28672]

Gendo may not have become cold-hearted and uncaring of the feelings of others due to his having been raised by his biological mother, but that did not necessarily mean that he was by any means unaffected by his youthfull experiences. Instead of being the "cold bastard" that Shinji had thought of him as, Gendo:

Had an obsession with proving the masculinity of himself and his son Shinji
Had an obsession with anime, specifically giant robot series (and as such insisted on running NERV like a stereotypical giant robot anime).
Went postal every now and then.
Had a strange phobia.
Was not all there.
Something else.
