Nabiki was unaware that, after having been activated by the act upon the roof, that the curse had turned mobile. After finishing with Akane it had just been waiting for a physical contact to move to someone else, and that's about when Nabiki had clapped Akane on the shoulder. It was losing power as it moved, but it still was good for another thousand or so aqua-transpecies. Enforced evolution as it were.

After setting up the camera she was about to splash Ranma and Akane when she tripped and splashed herself...
