Quickly Nabiki doused Ranma once more. The resulting catgirl immediately calmed down, reducing the noise level in the room by half. She started grooming herself once more.
Now Nabiki turned to the still screaming Akane, hauled back and slapped her sister across the face with all the power she could muster. She was quite fit for a non-martial-artist, but it took everything she had, to snap Akane out of her fit.
The younger sister held her cheek with one hand and blinked at Nabiki stupidly. Then she remembered what had set her off; what had happened to her. She almost started screaming again, but stopped herself, when she saw Nabiki hauling back again. Instead she settled for shouting. "I'm cursed! How could that happen?!"
Nabiki shrugged and leaned against the wall. "How should I know?" She mused a bit. "You know, this reminds me a little of a manga that I read once. It was about this high-school boy who happens to turn into a beautiful girl, whenever he gets excited..."
"That sounds ridiculous," said Akane.
"Of course," said Nabiki. "Whoever heard of people completely changing their physical sex - without water." She smirked. "Anyway, in this manga, the boy's girlfriend gets injured and he donates blood for a transfusion - and afterwards, she suddenly starts changing sex, too, for some time. Sounds a lot like what happened here."
"I didn't get any blood transfusions from Ranma," Akane protested.
Nabiki aimed a remote at the AV equipment and replayed the last few seconds of the tape. "That sure looks like an exchange of bodily fluids to me."
Akane 'eep'-ed and looked down at her fingers, imagining that she could still feel and smell the sweet, sticky "jam" she had found there. Did this mean she would stop turning into a catboy, if she stopped eating... those juices? And what did she mean, "if she stopped"? It's not like something like this was ever going to happen again, right? Right? She was snapped out of her contemplation by the touch of a soft, furry muzzle on her cheek.
Ranma nudged Akane again and mewled questioningly. Concern was written all over her face.
Suddenly Akane was overwhelmed with emotions for the ginger-and-red catgirl. All her previous walls of denial, protecting her pride and independence from the perceived threat of falling in love, were gone. All that was left were her feelings for Ranma. Impulsively she pulled the kitten into her lap and hugged her close.
Ranma purred happily, as Akane kissed her on the muzzle and then held her, softly stroking the fur on her back. Just like her human mind, her cat mind loved Akane unconditionally - but unlike her human mind, it had no compunctions about expressing it. The fear of making an irrevocable commitment, the fear of hurting one of the other girls, the web of jealousy and obsession that tangled up human Ranma's love life meant nothing at all to cat Ranma. She knew who she liked, and she was damn well gonna purr, if that one petted her!
Slowly she dozed off on Akane's lap.
Akane kept petting the sleeping catgirl, just to hear her rumble with purrs in her sleep. She realized now that she loved Ranma - truly, madly, deeply, as the saying goes. It made no difference at all to her, whether he was a boy, a girl, or a catgirl, whether he was sane or in the neko ken - it was all Ranma, and she loved all of him.
Nabiki sighed, as she watched the two. Apparently Akane had finally stopped deluding herself - now if Ranma grew a spine as well, and made a commitment, Nabiki would be out of one source of daily entertainment. She shrugged. Can't hang on to the past, I guess, she thought. Besides, once I leave for college, I'll have to find some other amusement, anyway.
"So, what do you think are the chances that she'll have snapped out of it, when she wakes up? She was just coming around, when you revealed your new curse and the two of you started making like cats in heat."
Akane blushed. "I don't know. If this was the normal nekoken, I'd say she'll be back to normal - but she never had a cat body before." She ran the fingers of her right hand slowly, sensuously through Ranma's fur. God, she's so beautiful - when she was still a human girl, and now as a catgirl. How could I ever have rejected Ranma for turning into this? It makes him even more wonderful.
While Akane continued to pet her fiancée, the two Tendou sisters waited for ranma to wake up.
