Nuclear Fusion: It's a long walk... [Episode 29623]

by PsyckoSama

The two newlyweds returned to their camp to see what they could salvage. While most of the gear had just been thrown about in the chaos, the most important piece of equipment was a loss.

Vash’s bike was crushed. The frame was bent, the engine block was all but smashed, and the fuel tank was cracked wide open, the precious alcoholic gasoline substitute training into the desert sands.

“Oh, man! My bike!” exclaimed Vash.

Lina shrugged. “Vash, I’ll buy you three bikes one I cash in Mr. Scorpy here!”

Vash scowled. “I killed it...”

Lina smiled. “And I know where to get the reward and where to sell the parts!”

“But it’s ten miles, and the sun’s still bright!” Vash complained. “Can’t we wait until night when its cooler?”

“Not a chance,” replied Lina. “Deathclaw’s are especially active this time of year. The eggs have just hatched and they are hunting more to feed the young and teach them the ropes, and unlike Mr. Scorpy, you’re not going to be outrunning a hungry Deathclaw, or god forbid, a pack.”

“Ok, you win,” replied Vash with a wince.

She smiled, placed the Scorpion parts into a bag, and thrust them into his arms. “Now get walking buster!”

“Hey!” exclaimed Vash as he glared at the young redhead.

“Well,” replied Lina, as she put on a cutesy face. “You’re the big strong man, and I’m the weak little wife...”

“Who’s weak?”

“Ah, move it!” exclaimed Lina giving him a swift kick to the ass.

Vash sighed and they began toward the town. The walk took the better half of a day, and when they arrived what they received was not expected.
