Vash and Lina had spent a good majority of the day walking. The town was far from where Vash had camped and they literally needed the day to get to the town of Mayborrow...
Especially when you consider Vash was the one carrying the sack of Death-Rad parts. "How much does this weigh? I think I'm actually having an easier time carrying this then when I was trying to run with you..."
Lina narrowed her eyes. "Husband, could you put the sack down for a moment."
Vash let out a sigh of relief as he put the bag down. "Finally, I really needed a break. Carryin that thing for such a long distance is a real pain in the-"
"FIREBALL!!!"
THWOOM!
(------)
We see a very charred and bandaged Vash hand over the set of Death-Rad claws to a male, slightly over-weight customer. "Here you go."
"Oh, thank you." The portly man said as he gave Vash a bag of 180 Bc.
Vash smiled as he accepted the money. "You're welcome."
Vash felt Lina slap him on the head. "Ow! What was THAT for?"
"Vash, those claws were worth a lot more! I could have easilly gotten that man to pay THREE TIMES that much.
"Oh... Sorry, Lina." Vash said.
Lina sighed. "From now on, I'm handling the sales."
Nodding his head, Vash moved behind Lina. "... Swell..."
(------)
Another customer looks over a pair of fist-sizes off-white sacs. Are these stink-glands?"
"Yes sir." Lina answered.
"What animal? I'm looking for a good beast repellent." The man said.
"Smiling, Lina answered, "Well, you're in luck. These are from a Death-Rad!"
"No kidding?"
"Yes. And they can keep for months, and can be used to make a first-rate mutant-beast repellent." Still smiling, Lina added, "And the price is 125,000 Bc each, not negotiable."
"Deal!" The man said as he literally shoved 250,000 Bc into Lina's hands, and took the glands.
Lina then smiled at Vash. "THAT my dear husband, is how it's done."
Vash just nodded his head. "... Swell..."
(------)
A Weapons-smith looked over the Mace end of the Death-Rad's tail. "I'll pay you 5 Bc for this."
"WHAT!?" Lina screamed. "That thing is AT LEAST worth 50 Bc!"
The Weapons-smith held out the mace-end of a Death-Rad's tail. "See this? Three of the spikes are broken off here. This thing should have some symmetry and equal weight all around. I'm afraid it's just no good."
"Sure it is!" To make her point Lina literally took a nearby piece of wood and jabbed it into the Death-Rad tail-end. "See? Watch as I swing this about and..."
Of course, Lina did not TIE the tail-end to the stick, so as she swung, she sent it flying...
Right at Vash...
"Groooooan..."
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry, Vash!" Then with a sigh of relief, thought, "At least now maybe, I won't be able to bear his children any time soon."
The Weapons-smith nodded his head. "It may be broken, but it is still very solid and a good weapon. I'll give you 80 Bc."
Lina jumped up. "YATTA! Isn't that great, husband?"
"... Swell..." Vash finally managhed to croak out from his spot on the ground.
(------)
The Sheriff looked over the upper jaw and face plate of the Death-Rad, idly feeling the huge bullet-hole through the face-plate. "I can't believe a beat-up man and a little girl beat a Death-Rad..."
"Well, believe it, buster!" Lina said. "My friend was in much better condition earlier, but that mean, ol' Death-Rad hurt him up something awful!"
"What!?" Vash interjected, "But it was you that-"
Lina slammed her foot down onto Vash's, causing him to hop around the Sheriff's office.
"Now, now husband." Lina began. "No need to agitate your wounds and bruises further." Looking at the Sheriff, Lina then added, "Don't mind him. The fight with the Death-Rad has him spooked."
"Okay..." The Sheriff said. "Well, I can give you 100,000 Bc for the bounty."
"Deal!" Lina said, all happy they were getting so much money off of one Death-Rad. "Isn't this great, husband?"
"... Swell..." Vash groaned, still hoping on one foot.
"Wow. I guess that isn't him. You can go."
"... Swell..."
