When the girl had finally left, she stopped licking her foot and ran her tongue along the back of her teeth a few times. Unfortunately it wasn't doing much to get the fur off it.
It took only a minute for Akane to come back with a kettle, growling as she dumped it over Shampoo's head and pointed at the door. "Now get out."
Shampoo backed off on all fours as Akane approached, then leapt over her head, collapsing again when she tried to land on her hands like a cat would. She quickly scrambled to her hands and feet, well, one hand, and turned to Akane again though.
Akane growled. "What in the world has gotten into you, Shampoo!"
The Amazon stared at her, then raised her arm and ran her tongue along it delicately before settling back on her legs.
"Eww...that's gross." The comment was quickly followed by a dawning realization, visible in her face. Finally.
"You've got to be kidding. The Neko-ken. What kind of idiot.... She is hurt though, and its not like she can think for herself like this...."
Shampoo twitched as she listened to Akane, then smiled to herself. She could ignore that for the opportunity to stay ne--erk. She squirmed as she felt hands grabbing her around the waist and almost yelled at her captor to let her go, then just yowled at her.
Akane muttered, "Now what to do about you." She looked around the room and snorted in digust. "Well, Uncle Saotome certainly isn't going to be any help."
She quickly padded down the stairs and into the kitchen, smiling brightly as she saw the can opener on the counter. "I know, I'll make you tuna surprise! That'll keep you busy while I go look for everyone."
Shampoo perked up slightly at that. She was kind of hungry and she liked tuna a great deal, a taste she had picked up a preference for a while back. This could be a better plan than she had thought if even Akane was willing to cook for her.
As Akane bustled around the kitchen, Shampoo took the opportunity to examine her arm. It was hard to tell if it was fractured or just sprained, though she was beginning to lean towards the former when a bowl of...something...was put in front of her.
"Eat up, Shampoo! We'll think of something to snap you out of this. Just wait and see."
Leaving the apparently content "cat" to stare at the bowl placed in front of her dubiously, Akane made her rounds through the house, gathering up her father, sisters, and (after aquiring bait) Ranma. She finally pulled them all together in the living room and sat down near the kitchen.
"So what do you want, Akane?" Nabiki asked, yawning theatrically and examining her finger nails. "It's kind of early for me to be up--and on a weekend no less." She settled back, leaning against the wall.
Akane nodded impatiently. "I know. Still, this is important. I think Shampoo tried to learn the Neko-ken."
Ranma swallowed convulsively, dropping a half-eaten sticky bun from a batch Kasumi had made earlier in the day. "What! Why would she do that?"
Shaking her head, Akane said, "How should I know? I'm pretty sure that's what happened though. Even after I splashed Shampoo--with hot water," she cut off her sister, "she was acting weird. Like a cat, really."
Soun crossed his arms, as the family took this in, then looked over towards his daughter, noting a pensive look on her face. "So what is it you believe we should do, daughter? You obviously have your mind made up about something."
Akane blushed. "Is it that obvious? Well, I was thinking. Her curse is probably only going to trigger the Neko-ken, right?" She leaned forward. "So I think what we need to do is get her to feel at home, take care of her so she snaps out of it. Unless any of you have a better idea?"
Shampoo's eyes widened as she noticed the quick pit dug opposite the koi pond in the yard.
"I g-guess I can t-take c-care of h-her, she's not a r-real c-cat after all, r-right?" Ranma stammered.
