If Nehelenia believed that using the magic mirror at the fancy dress ball was a good way to eliminate, or at least confuse, her fukued foes, she had another thing coming. Not only had Ranma and the girls remained effective despite their costume themed transformations, but Nehelenia had to deal with what might be called the substitute senshi.
Shampoo had thought that the ball would be a great way to impress her arien by wearing a cute-&-sexy Senshi Moon outfit. She'd show her Mamorou how much cuter and sexier she could be than that bubble-headed bimbo floozy he chased after.
She was not the only girl to have come up the same idea for a costume.
Akane Tendo had come dressed as Sailor Mars. She felt she had the hair for it, but complained about how impractical were the high heels and short skirt. She wanted her sisters to know how much she objected to being viewed as sex object by all the perverts, but wore the outfit none the less.
Nabiki Tendo had come as the short-haired Senshi Mercury. The costumes had been her idea as a good way to meet boys. (This being before she might decide that her dates were only good for one thing, free food, and anyway the Sailor Mercenary pun does not work so well in Japanese.) Akane had not, obstenibly, agreed to the deal for her own sake, but for their sister's.
Kasumi, had been talked into wearing a Senshi Jupiter outfit. She wasn't sure how they managed it, but Akane and Nabiki had teamed up to get-her-out-of-the-house-for-a-change. She'd had her hair put up hair into a ponytail, been squeezed into the embarrasingly tight, white blouse and short, green fuku, then been slipped a spiked punch and loosened up a little before the spell had hit. Then she really started to have fun!
