Lina Inverse was poking around an old ruin in Zephillia. She found a tome that described constructing a magical fortress. Flipping through the pages, she saw the book described chambers and had actual floor plans to work with. One of the chambers was a huge room with floating crystals. Lina shook her head.
"It's just a giant sized Rune Breaker that anyone can tap into if they knew how. Some of the defenses look interesting. This book might be worth a few gold coins as a curio. It looks like the tome was penned before Rune Breaker was developed," Lina muttered, as she left the ruin.
As she stepped out of the old building, Lina saw that several men holding swords surrounded her. A large bald man with a green beard and carrying a two handed battle-axe stepped forward.
'What does Dever want? Luna shot him down and told him that she didn't date bandits,' Lina thought
"So, the neophyte sorceress fell into our trap," the man said. "I will not let anyone or anything interfere with my right to prey upon the villages and kingdoms. I know that your sister is the Cephied Knight and she'd hunt me down and slaughter me if I killed you outright, so I have come up with a way to have my revenge on your sister."
Lina held her tongue and thought. 'If I say that my sister and I don't get alone, he'll kill me.'
The green bearded man waved and a trio of mages dressed in robes appeared. Each of them had a crystal in their hands and was pointing it at Lina.
"I intend to send you far away in time and into another dimension. You'll live out your full life in another dimension and so far in the past, that you will never be able to come back..."
'I will find a way to get back here and deal with this loon,' Lina thought and concentrated on listening to what the three mages were chanting.
The crystals the mages were holding blew up and pelted their holder, as a burst of light shot from the crystals. Lina saw the room she was in blur and vanish as the mages finished their spell. Lina looked around and saw she was now outside in what looked to be a forest on top of a small mountain. Looking up, Lina saw that there were three moons in the sky.
"Those idiots did it. I must be on another world. The only good thing I can say about this is that those mages had to overload their power amplifiers to banish me here."
Lina sat down on a rock and looked up at the sky. "How am I to get back?"
As she shifted on the rock, the book she found in the old ruin fell onto the ground with a thud. Picking the book up, Lina flipped through it and smiled.
"I'll have to use Diclariy on any fish or fruit I find to flush out any poisons. I have a way home. I don't know Rune Breaker, but I can build this fortress. I wonder...."
Lina pulled one of the empty tomes she carried with her and quickly wrote down the words of the spell that was used on her. Nodding in satisfaction, she looked at the nearby mountains. Lina put her hand on the rock she was sitting on and use an Earth spell to see what was beneath her. She held out her hand and fired a spell towards a certain spot of land.
"Bemphis Bring!"
Smiling, she used Raywing to fly down the hole and looked around after using Lighting to illuminate the area.
"Using a variation of Vu Vrymer, I can build some simple housing down here until I get the fortress finished. I should take me about an hour to do it
Lina proceeded to make the buildings she would need to build the fortress described in the book. Afterward, she headed back topside and used a spell of her own creation to catch a huge number of fish.
'Normally, I wouldn't use the spell. But right now, I need some food to keep in storage,' Lina thought, as she hauled her catch back down to the houses she had built underground.

Over the next week, Lina started building the fortress and using the nearby streams both above and below ground to supply her with food and drink. She had found an area below ground that had very dense rock and started tunneling in and up to construct the fortress. About two weeks in, her powers started faltering and weakening much to her panic. She soon realized what the problem was and started crying.
"So this is what sis meant by 'that time of the month'. This is so embarrassing," Lina muttered. "I'm going to need something to handle this when it happens again."
Lina rummaged around her few possessions and found a jade figurine in the shape of a ram's head.
"When my powers come back, I think I can enchant this with a combination of Dam Bras and Bemphis Bring and maybe a bit of my Vu Vrymer variant," Lina said to herself. "I'm going to make the visuals on it a bit more spectacular."
After her powers came back, Lina quickly enchanted the jade figurine and started using it to supplement her own abilities in construction of the fortress. The final bit of the fortress was a small keep that was situated above ground and on top of the mountain she had arrived on. Lina added one final touch to the fortress and smiled at its execution.
"Cliché, but it should keep any locals from getting to close while I'm working on the spell back," Lina muttered.
Entering the fortress, Lina tossed the small figurine to one side and set about working on the spell to send her back home and to her proper time. She put the tome on constructing the fortress back into her mantle and ignored it. As she worked on the spell, she figured out a few more spells, including one called Giga Slave. About two weeks after working on the spell, Lina finally had a breakthru and was about to cast it, when she heard something. She ran to one of the windows and looked out and then buried her face in her hand.
"It looks like a three-way war is going on out there. It has nothing to do with me. I'm out of here."
Lina quickly grabbed up her mantle and started chanting the spell. The power of the fortress augmented Lina's own and allowed her to head back to the world of Cephied and Shabranigdo and about three days after the spell that sent her to this world.

Lina reappeared just outside her hometown and saw Dever talking to the guards.
"So you see, Lina Inverse was nothing more than a common thief and...," Dever was saying.
Lina's blood boiled and she charged forward and brought her sword down on Dever's wrist, before the guards had time to react.
Dever yelled in pain and saw who had done it. "You? How? I banished you!"
"I found my way back," Lina growled, as she buried her sword in Dever's stomach. "You banished me and now you tried to frame me, when I couldn't defend myself from your charges."
As Dever slumped to the ground, the Zephillian guards looked at Lina and then at Dever. Contrary to most depictions of guards, the Zephillian guards were intelligent and pointed their pikes at Dever.
Lina looked down at Dever. "I was wondering what to do with my life Dever. You showed me what to do. I will become the Bandit Slayer."
Lina turned, as she heard some clapping behind her. She blanched in fear, as she saw Luna. Luna took a look at Dever and shook her head.
"You won't be able to do that here, Lina. You should go out into the world and see what it has to offer."
Lina nodded and felt inside her mantle and drew out two books. "Could you hold onto these for me. The fortress detailed in the brown tome was what allowed me to get back. The other one is the spell used on me and what I used to get back."
Lina frantically felt around in her mantle and then growled. "I left the stupid thing behind. It's not like I can't make a new one if I want."
Lina left Zephillia and started on her journey to become the well-known Lina Inverse.

On the world Lina left behind, one of the three armies backed away from the other two. The army was composed of humans and some other races. One of the armies that they were facing looked to be lizard men of some kind and the other army looked to be composed of demons.
The leader of the human army looked at his forces. "We're going to lose unless we find some sort of defensive position."
One of his lieutenants pointed to the top of the mountain. "How about that castle?"
The human leader looked at the castle. "Where did that come from?"
A woman carrying a staff and dressed in robes chanted something. After her spell was completed, she looked at the human leader.
"It was built recently. The reason it was built has been fulfilled and it now stands empty my husband. It is a place of power and can be a mighty bastion of goodness."
The leader of the human army nodded, as he studied the castle's most distinguishing characteristic.
"A miracle has dropped in our laps and I shall take my name by the main feature of that castle. I am now Greyskull and we shall make our stand at Castle Greyskull."
The human army with other allied races was able to get into the castle and held off against the other two armies. One of the war wizards of Greyskull found the stone that Lina had cast aside and used it to great effect in the battles and it became known as the Ram Stone. An n uneasy truce developed and the Ram Stone was taken to a place that would be called Zalesia. Over the years, the mystery of who built Castle Greyskull faded and each king took the name of the castle. As powers were added to the castle, a small part of the castle remembered who built it and why. That small and forgotten memory was to become vary important when the time of He-Man came. For Lina Inverse's actual time and the time of He-Man were roughly the same.
At is was time for Lina Inverse and Castle Greyskull to interact once more
