Umino was startled when a pair of voices, faint and seperate, but growing more as one even in their growing power and grace, erupted from the Mirror which was now limning them both in light and darkness.
"We are the remnants of Powers past, finally as One, able to aid Our Children's dearest friends this one time..." The voices seemed so strange, and yet.. so familiar.
Umino saw the light and Dark both sinking into him, into Naru, and Changing them, into what he knew not, but though it felt right, he had to ask "Please? I.. I don't know.."
"You do, in your heart of hearts, Naru, Umino.. You two who were of such devoted service to the Millenial Royal Princess that you took the first attacks allowing Queen Serendipity to fight back, and allowing her to send them forwards, to rebirth.. even as was done with you both, affianced before the end of your lives then."
The rush of memories, of being devoted servants, wondering why the commoners never saw the pains and tasks of living a Royal life.. the memory of that dreadful day when the Imperial Ball was attacked by Beryl, and.. their dying moments.. They were still awake, but stunned into silence, the Voices understanding and loving as they finished the tale.
"When sent forward, the corrupted Power of Metallia attempted to subvert the future Senshi from emerging as a threat, and the Dark backlash from this also affected you two, preventing you, Umino, from accessing your noble heritage as a Man-at-Arms for your Princess, which in turn prevented your newly gained Incubitic powers.. More tragically, it produced the corruption of lifeflow, bringing Cancer into Naru.. This we have repaired, in gratitude for the love you have shown, and in shame for the pains Madness brought."
Before Umino could answer, a weak, but recovering voice, now filling with inherent wisdom and wit, spoke from the sickbed.. "Which of You is Metallia?"
Umino, now taller, still sexually intrigued, but now as intriguing as he gained the traits of the mid-Noble member of the Aesland empire he was meant to be, simply hugged Naru happily, as the Kitsune Fox-Spirit smiled.
"Neither, for We are but the final wishes of the Queen and of Metallia, given form for healing the harms done, and for bringing forth the last remnants of the Court.. Others may arrive, but they will be from their own actions. Be wary, for Oblivion seeks to devour all, as it must, being the Ending of All Things, and it seeks the Princess. We are fading, but know that all Our love is in you. Farewell, children."
As the Mirror grew silent and the power faded, Naru and Umino looked to one another, and wordlessly the Incubus took her in arms much improved and flew off.
Be it as sister, Princess of Moon, or Lady of his Dark Line, Usagi has another gaurdian, and Umino will *not* let her down!
