He had just been hoping to get some pictures of the Senshi and their new enemies. Pictures that could be sold for a lot of money... money he needed right now. But what he found might be better...
Umino clutched the Mirror to his chest. He wasn't exactly sure what it could do... but it was magic! Real magic. He... he had to try...
He didn't go home. He ran instead to the Osa-P jewelry store...
"Naru?" he called softly as he entered the living area. If she was asleep, he didn't want to wake her after all...
Recieving no answer, he entered her bedroom. As he thought, the love of his life, Naru Osaka, was resting on her bed.
It hurt him to see her like this. After everything... all those monster attacks, all that danger... here she was, dying.
The cancer had only six months ago, but it was already ravaging her body. And what it wasn't destroying, the chemotherapy was.
And even after all that... the doctors said she wasn't going to live more than a few more months, if she was really lucky. That was the only reason she was out of the hospital.
Now, she was frail, barely able to get out of bed. She was gaunt, and had lost her hair.
Umino would have sold his soul to save her. At this point, he was willing to try anything.
"Please," he whispered to the Deep Aqua Mirror, "Please, help her..."
The mirror did nothing.
"PLEASE!!" he yelled this time, his tears falling on the mirror's face. But beyond a swirl of color... nothing.
Umino collapsed by Naru's bed, weeping openly.
