As Shinji turned on the burnt orange gameboy advance, he felt an electrical shock go through his hands and flow throughout his body for a short time which was weird in Shinji's mind since his GBA wasn't attached to a charger and that the batteries inside were brand new.
Shrugging the slight shock to his body as nothing more then his imagination he started a new game. As he played through the game he actually became interested in the psynergy moves the characters where using.
After playing for a few hours Asuka decided it was time to 'grace' Misato's apartment and its inhabitants with her presense. After a quick look around she found the apartment was a mess which only served to tick her off, so she went to tear the only person she beleives is to blame a new one.
Marching over to Shinji's room she busted the door open to see Shinji laying on his bed playing a game on his GBA which only further serve to piss her off. She then stomped towards Shinji yanked the gameboy advance out of his hands dispite his protests and threw it as hard as she could at the farthest wall away which in turn caused not only the gameboy advance but the game it had inside to shatter into peices. Asuka then started to yell at Shinji for not cleaning the house, but Shinji wasn't listening to her due to the boiling rage building up inside of him.
You see that GBA was one of the only things he had left of his mother, that and he truly liked playing that game which only shattered Shinji's meek outside and spark his anger if only for a short amount of time. Add to the fact that Asuka was blaming him for the mess when it was her turn to clean up only mad Shinji all the madder.
