Magical Prince: Coming up with a plan [Episode 31430]

by Kestral

The Kingdom of Legendaria was neither here nor there.

It was, in fact, very similar to Jade in many respects. If Jade had been part of this particular universe, it would have been a kingdom of Jade.

Instead it was one kingdom of a continent that resembled Australia. Except that if it had been Australia, this would have been North of the Equator, and it was a lot greener if taken as a whole.

Now split it into four nations. The Western half is the biggest nation. That would be Legendaria. Just a little further East and you'd find some rock and desert and "scrub plains" - this was the land of Cursypt, and a nasty place it was to find yourself. A bit further on and you'd find the kingdoms of the Highlands and the Free Confederation.

One of the things about this particular world is that the King was one with the Land. Procrit was a good ruler, a kind and just person (for the most part, he did have a little problem with his temper - though if you didn't physically attack him his usual response was to stalk off in a Royal Snit) and as a result his lands were beautiful and bountiful and people were pretty happy to be there.

Cursypt was ruled by an undead lich who was not a very nice person at all. Which was why her kingdom was pretty much the source of monsters which would immediately leave the kingdom to cause trouble elsewhere, because frankly even the rotten evil monsters didn't like staying in Cursypt.

Procrit could have had his choice of women of the kingdom. He was, after all, not terribly harsh to look at. He was the prince. Not a handsome prince, but not an ugly one either. He was a powerful and well educated wizard. He was even a pretty good physician. Every time he tried though, something had come up.

Most often it was the tradition of marrying outside the kingdom. Sometimes it was his utter ineptitude on the dancefloor, or his allergies, or the occasional spell going completely awry. Still, in the main, it came down to marrying outside the kingdom and bringing new blood in. Other than himself, there was only one human in Legendaria, and that would be Princess Kasumi. As for the other kingdoms, the ruler of Cursypt was not a nice person, the ruler of the Highlands was male and only had male heirs. The Free Confederation had a number of princesses (seven to be exact) but they tended to run a bit younger than would make for a proper marriage.

Hence the banners, festival signs, spontaneous parties (not that either the dwarves or the hobbits needed an excuse), etc. popping up all over the kingdom.

Prince Procrit, formerly Prince Erythromycin but he got tired of his name being mangled, had found someone! She was nice! This being a land of magic, you could generally tell these things. Beautiful, graceful, polite, kind - in short Kasumi made a completely proper young princess. She had a lovely smile, an enchanting laugh, and definitely looked good in court formals.

And there was much rejoicing! The Prince and his new Princess were getting along quite famously according to the various gossips, and faerie are practically addicted to gossip.

When news of the Prince asking the Princess out on a date spread, there came the smells of halflings cooking up a storm. Dwarves got some of their finest out of their deepest delves, rehearsing the various toasts they'd raise to the happy couple. Elves composed sonnets. Dragons agreed to patrol the kingdom borders and toast anyone that even looked like they were going to raise an objection.

If nothing else, it was going to be a helluva party.

Akane slammed the door open, ready to throw water upon the oversleeping Ranma. She stopped as she eyed the still rolled up futon.

She eyed Ranma sitting in the corner, looking as if he hadn't slept a wink. "Time to go to school, Ranma."

Ranma nodded, looking haggard still, and purposely not looking at Akane. If he did, he might have a pervert thought. That would be bad. Just don't look at anyone. Don't talk to anyone. Don't fall asleep. Don't get into physical contact with anyone. Then maybe you could avoid doing or thinking or anything that could be perverted.

Akane considered hitting Ranma for not looking at her or talking to her, but put that aside for now.

Nabiki came out of her room. "Saotome, I've got a lead on Kasumi's whereabouts, I'll meet you two after school if the source pans out."

Ranma nodded and deliberately not looking at Nabiki either. Nope.

Hours later, a plan was developed.
