"..An' I just sat there, listening to them liars do each other. Thats why I left, but since I couln' decide wher...to go I thought maybe a lil drink would help."
The bartender shook his head sadly and put the bottle of saki away, only three cups and already the kid was drunk. Fortunately he wasn't the sort of drunk that couldn't speak properly to tell a story. Though the liquer certainly fired the boys imagination, if Kuroda believed the kid then he turned into a girl with a splash of cold water. But he was damn sure that wasn't the truth since the kid just came in from the rain saoked to the bone and obviously male.
But judging from the kids expressive face the rest of the story was true, though it was still a bit hard to swallow but even Kuroda had heard of Ranma Saotome. Not all good stories mind you but the single repeating theme to all of them were the number of fiance's the kid had. SO now he understood why the kid wanted to get plastered, it was bad enough for any guy to lose their girlfriend because she's a lesbian but thats just one girl so how hard would it hit ya if all the girls who had been chasing after you were only into other girls and regularly used you as their shield to show everyone that they weren't lesbians.
Not that he could say anything against same-gender couples in this day and age without violating some law or getting sued by some group or another for violating anothers rights. The laws were great for such people, giving them quite a few opportunities and a certain amount of protection.
But none of those laws could protect a young heart.
In such matters the law was powerless.
"There you are!"
Kuroda looked up from the glass he'd been absently polishing to see a young girl about the kids age with blue hair and brown eyes, all in all a pretty girl. Pointing at Ranma the bartender asked her. "Do you know him?"
The girl scowled at the bartender when he stopped her from waking the kid up. "This baka's my fiance! I'm sorry, its just....he does this every week. Goes to bars like this and tries to get free booze for his 'sorrows'."
The bartender wasn't so sure of that. Just looking at the kid he knew, from years of experience, that the kid was drunk and what the girl didn't know was that Ranma had already paid for the bottle though he'd only drunk two cups worth so far.
Before he could comment Akane spoke up as she started moving Ranma's body off the stool. "I'll just take him home now and let dad deal with him."
Ranma protested Akane moving him but the girl was stronger then she looked and easily dragged him out of the bar.
Kuroda mulled over what he had heard from both Ranma and the girl who's name he didn't get and the overall picture he got wasn't a pleasant one.
-------------------------------
Outside the bar Akane directed a dark look at her drunk fiance and muttered darkly to herself. The girls would be in that alley over there, the only thing working against them was that it wasn't raining anymore, now they'd have to find some cold water. But atleast they'd found him, foortunately for Akane and Shampoo Ukyo had seen Ranma leave the Tendo home with his travel pack and followed him. Then after she overheard him thinking aloud on where to go and seeing him enter the bar she quickly came back and got Akane and Shampoo to help round Ranma up.
Akane smiled to herself as she imagined Ranma-chan. They couldn't let Ranma leave after all, where would the fun be in that? And she was sure that Shampoo had an idea to get Ranma's girl side permamently. At the entrance to the alley several pairs of hands reached out to take Ranma from her.
"Thanks girls. Guess now we can have some fun eh?" Akane looked up to see:
