Akane blinked, realizing that it was a girl from the Furinkan Wrestling Team that had taken Rama instead of Ukyo or Shampoo. The other two fiancee's were lying on the ground a little further into the alley, hog-tied and unconscious.
"Foolish little sister," came the cooly amused tone Akane had grown to hate. "Always getting into trouble beyond your ability to manage or get out of."
"Everything's under control here, big sister," Akane growled. "So why don't you leave me to my fun?"
Nabiki's gaze shifted to over Akane's shoulder and she gave a sharp nod. Before the younger Tendo could turn, two cold metal points pressed into the back of her neck and buzzed loudly.
Akane collapsed to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut.
"Because Saotome always wins, little sister," Nabiki said, still cool, but with sadness creeping into her tone. "He defeats the opponent, breaks the spell, and saves the princess every damned time. And speaking as one of the people he'd take revenge on first, I have no desire to see him run out of forgiveness." Nabiki was silent for a moment. "Besides, burying you would destroy our family, no matter how much you deserved it."
Drawing a cell phone out of her pocket, Nabiki pressed a button on speed dial. It was answered on the first ring. "Yui. Time to go," said Nabiki shortly, before hanging up and putting the phone away.
Within a minute, two vehicles pulled up in front of the alley, a delivery van and a taxi cab.
"Thanks for the tip, Konatsu. As promised, there will be no repercussions from this... episode. Although Ranma's still probably going to break the engagement."
The kunoichi gazed at her levelly before replying. "I don't blame him. In truth, knowing what they had planned for tonight... I cannot look at Kuonji the same way myself. I think I will leave after depositing the girls in Kuonji's apartment."
Nabiki sighed. "If you need someplace to stay, just let me know."
Konatsu blinked in surprise, before nodding. "Thanks. You know, you're not nearly as much of a heartless bitch as Uk-Kuonji made you out to be."
"I almost couldn't be," Nabiki observed wryly.
"True."
The next morning, Ranma woke up:
