"What are you talking about, Nabiki?" Akane asked. The snake girl thrust Ranma's note at her and she read it, Kasumi looking over her shoulder.
"Oh my," Kasumi said, gasping.
"He'll come back soon," Akane said, though she didn't sound as confident as usual.
"I hope so," Nabiki said, feeling guilty for not having warned Ranma not to go into her female form. She had wanted a test subject so bad.

Elsewhere that night.
Ryuu Kumon sighed with relief as he set down his load and stretched his arms out. It was good to taste the free air in his travels, and it was equally good to come to the end of a long day of travelling and prepare for some rest.
As he was stretching his eyes focused on a something that he hadn't noticed at first. Sitting in the darkness, a figure.
"Hello," he called out. "Anyone there?"
"Go away." a girl's voice said evenly. Ryuu came closer and saw the flames capping the figure's head.
"You're on fire!" he cried out, rushing forward to knock her down and suffocate the fire. Two wings unfurled from the demons body and revealed a wide staring face. Then Ryuu tackled her and heard this sickly "snap"
"AH!" the girl cried out, cutting it off quickly. As Ryuu realized that the "fire" was the girl's hair he awkwardly sat back away from her and she sat up, dealing with a broken wing. "Look what you did jerk!"
The punch that followed flattened Ryuu, who had yet to experience the wrath of a woman.
"What are you?" Ryuu asked sitting up.
